Mossyrock School District Band Director Dylan Patrick was selected to participate in the 2026 Rose Parade as part of Saluting America’s Band Directors, according to a recent social media post by the district.
The ensemble features more than 350 musicians from across the country, including Mexico, Canada and Panama, coming together to celebrate excellence in music education and to recognize the dedication of band directors nationwide, the post stated.
The 2026 Rose Parade appearance represents the third major parade performance for Saluting America’s Band Directors, following previous appearances in the 2022 Rose Parade and the 2023 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.
Patrick performs on the sousaphone.
“This is an incredible opportunity and a true honor,” Patrick said. “Being part of something on this scale allows me to show my students that music doesn’t end after high school — it can stay with you throughout your life, open doors to unforgettable experiences, and connect you with people from across the country. Beyond the performance itself, the travel, collaboration and shared pride in representing our schools and communities make this trip especially meaningful.”
Participation in the Rose Parade places the director and ensemble on a national stage watched by millions, reinforcing the value of music education and lifelong involvement in the arts, the district stated.
