A motorcyclist who was involved in a Friday morning wreck near Lacey has died, a spokesman for the Thurston County Sheriff's Office said Sunday.

The man died en route to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, said Lt. Mike Brooks. Other details about the man and incident were not immediately available.

About 10:20 a.m. Friday, the Sheriff's Office and Lacey Fire District 3 were dispatched to the crash at Martin Way East and Ranger Drive Southeast after a report of a man down on the road and unresponsive.

Gas was leaking from the motorcycle, The Olympian reported.

When crews arrived, Battalion Chief Tim Hulse said they found the man in critical condition and in need of advanced life support, according to The Olympian report.

The driver of the other vehicle had minor injuries.

Medics stabilized the motorcyclist at the scene and then transported him by ambulance to a landing zone to be flown by Airlift Northwest to Harborview, The Olympian reported.
