Motorcyclist killed in collision involving elk on Interstate 90

A motorcyclist is dead after colliding with an elk and then getting hit by another vehicle on Interstate 90 near North Bend, Eastside Fire & Rescue and Washington State Patrol said Saturday morning.

The collision occurred around 2:45 a.m. on westbound I-90 near milepost 27, Washington State Patrol spokesperson Rick Johnson said.

After the collision, Johnson said, the motorcyclist was hit by a white camper van. The driver of the van stopped briefly but then left the scene, he said.

Officials from Eastside Fire could not be immediately reached for comment.
