While Miss Lewis County 2024 was crowned back in March and Little Miss Friendly is set to be selected next week at the Southwest Washington Fair, there’s one contest for local men that is also on the horizon.

The Mr. Lewis County contest will be returning to the Veterans Memorial Museum on Saturday, Aug. 17.

“We interview whoever wants to show up and they have to answer strange questions about Lewis County, and we see who gives off the best Mr. Lewis County vibes,” Veterans Memorial Museum Executive Director Chip Duncan told The Chronicle in a phone call. “So dress up in your coveralls and trucker hat and come on down.”

The event is free to enter and attend. It coincides with a Cruzin’ To The Muzeum car show at the museum, which will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. The car show is also free to attend and enter. It features live music and a food truck along with the Mr. Lewis County contest.

Duncan added last year’s Mr. Lewis County, Tom Craswell, will be returning to defend his title. Along with bragging rights, another custom squirrel beer koozie is also up for grabs.

“We have a few people wanting to dethrone Mr. Tom Craswell,” Duncan added. “But he wants it again. It should be fun.”

The Veterans Memorial Museum is located at 100 SW Veterans Way in Chehalis.
