Mushroom Club to Host First Meeting of Fall, Plan for Fair Information Booth

The Southwest Washington Mycological Society will host its first meeting of the fall season at 6 p.m. Aug. 2 in the Washington State University Extension office in Chehalis.

The meeting will include a presentation by Dr. Michael Beug on the “major genera of the boletes and polypores” with an emphasis on mushrooms that are common, though he will touch on less common mushroom varieties.

The club will also present opportunities to share information about the society during the Southwest Washington Fair, for which the club will need people to help staff for a few hours during the day. Assisting with the club’s fair booth will get volunteers free parking and admission to the fair for that day.

The extension office is located at 17 SW Cascade St., Chehalis.
