No injuries were reported after a car crashed into a house just off of 191st Avenue in Rochester on Thursday evening.

The vehicle left the roadway and traveled nearly 400 feet before striking the house’s electrical box and front porch and coming to a stop inside the house.

The car narrowly missed a bedroom where a 1-year-old boy was sleeping, according to one of the residents’ grandparents, who live about a block away.

“We heard what sounded like an explosion,” Brenda Blosl, grandmother of resident Spencer Blosl, told a Chronicle reporter on Monday.

The crash occurred at about 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10.

“This has been terrifying for my family. We have a very long driveway. Never in a million years would I ever have thought something like this would happen at our house because we’re so far from the road,” resident Abby Looney said in a Facebook post following the crash.

The family is able to stay in the home, with the damaged areas blocked off, according to Brenda Blosl.

The cause of the crash was not publicly available on Monday.

The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office did not reply to The Chronicle’s request for information before the paper’s press deadline Monday afternoon.
