Oakville swept by Naselle in doubleheader

The Oakville baseball team lost a late lead in its first game against Naselle on Friday, and they lost big in the second game to lose both ends of a doubleheader.

In the first game, a 5-3 loss, Oakville led 3-1 going into the seventh, but Naselle scored four in the top of the seventh to flip the script late.

All three of Oakville’s runs came in the fourth, when Koner Burnett doubled home a run and Joseph Charles hit a two-run home run.

The Comets carried that late momentum into Game 2, when they needed just three innings to beat the Acorns 13-0.

Brunett, Charles, and James Shields collected Oakville’s three hits in that game.

The Acorns (3-5) will hit the road on Tuesday, when they’ll head to Ocosta.
