One driver was killed and another was injured in a three-vehicle wreck near Tenino Thursday afternoon, according to Washington State Patrol.

The woman who died at the scene was 27-year-old Kylie C. Thompson, of Vancouver, Washington, according to the Thurston County coroner. A 56-year-old Rainier man was injured and taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia.

About 2:15 p.m. Thursday, the Vancouver woman was headed south on state Route 507 at Military Road Southeast, according to the state patrol. Two other vehicles were headed north on the same road.

Troopers say the woman's car crossed into the northbound lane, triggering the three-vehicle crash. Excessive speed was the cause of the crash, according to the state patrol.

The injured Rainier man's vehicle eventually rolled onto its top. The third driver, a 33-year-old man also from Rainier, was not injured. The road was closed for three hours, according to the state patrol.
