While he originally planned to host former Seattle Seahawks standouts Chris Warren and Joseph “Red” Bryant at his card show next month, Keiper’s Cards owner Dan Keiper announced on Facebook that Bryant has rescheduled his appearance for this summer on Aug. 24.
“Red unfortunately had to reschedule for personal reasons,” Keiper said to The Chronicle on Saturday, April 6. “We have rescheduled him for August 24, during the (Hub City) Car Show on Saturday.”
Warren will still be at the Keiper’s Cards and Memorabilia Show to meet fans and sign autographs on Sunday, May 5, from 1 to 2 p.m. in downtown Centralia’s Tower Avenue Mall, located at 320 N. Tower Ave.
Autographs are $25 each purchased presale at Keiper’s Cards until April 26, and $30 after that. Those unable to attend can send Keiper memorabilia or cards for Warren to sign for $40 plus shipping. Reach out to Keiper on Facebook or Instagram for more information on how.
The card and memorabilia show itself — free to attend — will still be running from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, and 10 a.m to 4 p.m. on May 5. Vendor spots for the show are still available and can be booked by contacting Keiper.
Born in Silver Spring, Maryland, Warren was a running back who played at both the University of Virginia and Ferrum College before being drafted by the Seahawks in 1990.
Initially only on special teams as a kick returner, he broke out in the 1992 season, rushing for 1,017 yards and scoring three touchdowns.
He ran for over 1,000 yards over the next three seasons, including career highs of 1,545 yards in 1994 and scored a total of 15 touchdowns in 1995.
Warren was also a three-time Pro Bowler from 1993 through 1995. By the end of his time in Seattle in 1997, he held the franchise’s career rushing yard record, though he was eclipsed in 2005 by Seahawks running back Shawn Alexander.
Following his time in Seattle, Warren played for the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles before retiring from the NFL after the 2000 season.
Prior shows Keiper has hosted in Centralia have seen appearances made by former Seahawks kicker Norm Johnson and former Seattle Supersonics coach and NBA Hall of Famer George Karl.
Keiper’s Cards is located at 320 N. Tower Ave., suite 4, in downtown Centralia, and is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
