Orcas’ second-half offensive outburst downs Trailblazers

The Centralia College men’s basketball team lost its second straight on Friday, falling to Whatcom 85-77 in Bellingham.

The Trailblazers (1-6) went on a 14-2 run in the middle of the first half to open up a 24-12 lead, and they led by six going into the break.

The offense kept rolling in the second half, but the defense struggled to contain Noah McCord and Noah Madsen, who combined for 28 points in the final 20 minutes.

Orion Dybdahl led the Trailblazers with 24 points on 9 of 14 shooting and also grabbed seven rebounds. Nahshon Henderson Crews scored 20 while also adding six rebounds, five assists, three steals and a block.

Malakai Craig added six points off the bench, hitting two threes. Bryson Williams led the team with eight rebounds and also added five points. 

The Trailblazers are back in action tomorrow, again at Whatcom. They’ll take on Wenatchee Valley at 2 p.m.
