More than 107 Chehalis residents came out to Stan Hedwall Park on Saturday, Aug. 5, to dump trash for the city’s summer clean up event, according to a news release from the city.

Residents disposed of trash in four dumpsters provided by LeMay Inc. for the event.

“City staff from various departments were on hand to assist Chehalis residents in unloading the items they brought for disposal … Everything from a single item to full trucks and trailers,” stated the release.

This event was created following a spring clean up event in May in which four dumpsters were filled in a matter of hours during the beginning of the event, which was supposed to go all weekend.

“Between the spring and summer events, residents of Chehalis dropped off over 43,000 pounds of discarded items at no cost to them,” the release said.

LeMay, Chehalis Public Works, the Chehalis Parks Department and the Chehalis Wastewater Department were all thanked for their help during the event in the release.
