The Pe Ell girls basketball team had few issues at home with Three Rivers Christian, rolling to a 58-11 win in 1B Columbia Valley League play.
“We pressured them from the start, forcing turnovers and capitalizing on those,” first-year coach Kelsey Lennox said. “We ran the floor when we could and also executed our offense, forcing them out of their zone and into man.”
The Trojans (4-1, 1-0 1B CVL) shut the Eagles out in both the first and third quarters, leading 28-6 at halftime.
Brookelynn King led the way in the scoring column with 14 points. Karli Phelps and Emma Kissner both came close to logging double-doubles; Phelps had 12 points and nine steals, while Kissner put up 10 points, nine rebounds, five assists and three steals.
Peyton Zock and Devyn Shannon both added eight points, and Ruby Magruder and Ava King had three apiece.”
“All eight girls contributed, be it rebounding, hustle plays, making the extra pass, etc.,” Lennox said. “It was a good team effort tonight.”
Pe Ell will play at Willapa Valley on Thursday.
