A person died after they were dumped from a dumpster into a garbage collection truck in Lynnwood on Wednesday morning, according to police.
It was not immediately clear if the person was using the dumpster as a shelter. Police responded to the early morning call on 196th Street Southwest and learned from a garbage collection employee what happened.
Medics removed the person from the truck and took them to a hospital, where they died from their injuries, police said.
Lynnwood detectives are investigating, and said Wednesday afternoon that the death "appears to be a tragic accident."
Police did not immediately respond to a request for additional details.
