The Adna girls basketball team clinched their first outright league title in 40 years on Wednesday, as the Pirates won the C2BL with a 61-24 win over Onalaska.

The Pirates (20-1, 12-1 C2BL) took a slim lead early, but broke the game open in the second to take a 32-14 lead into the locker room at halftime.

They continued to roll in the second half, allowing just three points in the third while scoring 16 to extend their lead.

Karsyn Freeman finished with 17 points, while Bailey Chapman added 11 and Gaby Guard tallied 10.

Emalie Jacoby led the Loggers (10-11, 5-8 C2BL) with 10 points.

Onalaska will be the No. 6 seed in the district tournament, and they’ll take on Ocosta, the third seed from the P2BL, on Saturday at Montesano.

As league champions, the Pirates will have a bye until the second round of the tournament. They’ll take the court next on Tuesday at W.F. West.
