In a back-and-forth league contest, and on the road, the Adna boys basketball team triumphed over hometown Toutle Lake, 54-48, Tuesday to open league play with a win in 2022.

The Pirates (7-2, 1-0 C2BL) used a 17-2 third quarter to pull away and hold off the Ducks to get back on track after a loss to Chief Leschi their last time out.

Adna guard Braeden Salme led the way with 18 points, and Chase Collins was just behind with 17. Forward Lane Johnson nearly had a double-double with nine points and 10 rebounds.

The Pirates will look to stay perfect in league on Thursday against reigning district champion Kalama on the road.
