The Adna girl’s basketball team was stellar defensively on Friday, limiting King’s Way throughout in a 57-17 win.

The Knights scored just eight in the first half and nine in the second, including just two points in the fourth quarter.

“Overall we finally got the game at our pace in the third quarter,” Adna coach Chris Bannish said. “I thought we shared the ball well, and our defensive pressure is getting better each game.”

The Adna offense was consistent throughout the night, as they put up at least 13 points in every quarter.

Karsyn Freeman led the way with 17 points, and Bannish said that as teams focus their defensive attention on her, she’s doing a better job of finding open teammates.

“Her versatility, it just allows us to spread the floor,” Bannish said. “She’s just one of those kids that teams are gonna collapse on.”

Gaby Guard also had a nice night scoring, tallying 15 points.

The Pirates will look to remain unbeaten tomorrow, when they host Ilwaco.
