The Adna volleyball team kept rolling on Tuesday, topping Toutle Lake 25-20, 23-25, 25-18, 25-17 in a C2BL matchup to remain unbeaten.

Despite dropping a close second set, the Pirates (9-0, 4-0 C2BL) were consistent throughout with their approach, working around a tall Toutle Lake team to earn points at the net.

“The team came in with a game plan and did a good job executing it,” Adna coach Wendie Dotson said. “It was an all-around team effort.”

Dotson added that while her hitters were able to work around the blocks to find open space, her setters were equally as impressive with their assists.

Several Pirates stuffed the box score in the win, including Danika Hallom, who finished with 18 digs, 16 kills, five aces and a block. Kendall Humphrey also had a double-double, finishing with 18 kills, 12 digs, three blocks and an ace.

Gaby Guard and Charissa Schierman combined for 40 assists, while Guard added four kills, four blocks and two digs and Schierman added three digs, three kills, two blocks and an ace.

Karsyn Freeman tallied eight kills, six digs and two aces, and Jaylee Humphrey had six digs, two aces and a kill.

Dotson also commended Bailey Chapman, who had five blocks and two kills, noting that her confidence is growing with every match and on Tuesday, she did a great job defending Toutle Lake’s key hitters.

Another tough test awaits Adna, as the Pirates will head to Napavine for a rematch against the Tigers. On Sept. 26, Adna handed Napavine its only loss so far this season.
