On Thursday, June 4th, I was watching airplanes at Chehalis Airport. I heard on my Aircraft scanner a call from a plane that had just taken off that the cowling (engine cover) had popped open after takeoff. He said that he was coming back for a landing. I got out my camera and took a few pictures as he came in for a landing. He didn't seem to panic. A few minutes after landing he taxied out and took off again...with the cowling fastened down. This could have ended differently but fortunately pilots train for emergencies. I was at the airport watching the airplanes because there really isn't much to do during this lockdown.
