For the first time since the 2025 2B District 4 Championship Game, Pe Ell/Willapa Valley and Raymond/South Bend faced off in South Bend on Tuesday, and the Titans came away with a 7-3 and a 7-5 victory in the P2BL doubleheader.
With the victories, PWV clinched the P2BL title, finished the league season unbeaten, and secured the league’s No. 1 seed in the upcoming district tournament.
The Titans took a 6-0 lead in Game 1 with a four-run third and a two-run fourth, and though the Ravens were able to get back into the game with three runs across the fifth and sixth, a PWV insurance run in the seventh was more than enough to keep it at a comfortable margin.
Izzy Milanowski finished with three hits, Tyler Keeton hit a triple, and both of them drove in two runs. Layla Andrews and Jillian Hodel both collected two hits and drove in a run, and Rylin Channell added a hit and an RBI of her own while also scoring twice.
Eliza Barnum pitched the first five and a third, striking out eight while allowing just four hits and three runs (two earned), and Hodel struck out one and allowed just one hit in an inning and two-thirds of relief.
In Game 2, PWV again jumped in front, scoring three runs across the first two innings, but RSB responded with a five-run third to jump in front 5-3.
The Titans punched right back in the fourth, though, bringing home a run to cut into the deficit before Sophia Milanowski drilled a two-run home run to put them on top 6-5.
An RBI groundout from Channell added on an insurance run in the fifth, and Barnum was able to seal the deal in the circle. She pitched four scoreless innings of relief, allowing just one run and striking out seven.
PWV (16-5, 10-0 P2BL) will now have the next week and a half off before it begins district tournament play in the quarterfinals on Friday, May 15 at Fort Borst Park in Centralia.
