Razor clam digging reopens on north Oregon coast

Posted

Oregon has reopened razor clam digging on the north Oregon coast from Yachats to the Washington border, including Clatsop County beaches.

However, bay clam and mussel harvests remain closed coastwide because of continued high levels of marine toxins (PSP and domoic acid).

Razor clam digging was closed last week as a precautionary measure when high levels of PSP showed up coastwide. Testing this week showed low enough levels to resume the popular digs.

Commercial oyster harvest also reopens on Netarts and Tillamook bays.
