Reader’s Lens: FedEx delivery truck catches fire in Packwood

Teresa Mickey provided these photos to The Chronicle showing a FedEx truck that caught fire while making deliveries in Packwood on Wednesday, Aug. 7.

There were no injuries reported.

Sarah Barnett, a Packwood resident with more than 7,400 followers on Facebook, appears to have been the first to report details of the fire on Wednesday.

She wrote: "FedEx man saved the packages! He said after he dropped a package off he heard a puff in the engine then saw smoke. He tried to make it out of the neighborhood but saw it was on fire. So he stopped. Threw what was left of the packages out and called 911!!! He took his line of duty extremely serious in this case. And at the end of the day, he was not hurt. Thank God!”
