The American Red Cross set up a shelter location at the Salvation Army’s Centralia location Saturday for those displaced by Tuesday’s devastating fire at the Winlock Haunted Hostel, B&B and Hotel.

The evacuees were initially taken to the OYO Hotel in Chehalis after the fire Tuesday night.

The Red Cross communicated with the Salvation Army on Friday about the need to move 20 displaced households, according to the Salvation Army.

Those households stayed in the Salvation Army’s night-by-night shelter Friday night ahead of the Red Cross setting up its own emergency shelter inside the Salvation Army’s main building on North Gold Street on Saturday.

The Salvation Army will provide meals to those at the Red Cross shelter beginning Saturday, according to the Salvation Army.
