The Southwest Washington Fair’s Sunday afternoon demolition derby saw both season veterans and first-time riders.

Last year’s Summerfest derby winner Josh Levine returned to claim his title in the “big car” main demolition derby. Competing for her first time in the youth category was his 13-year-old daughter, Emma Levine.

In the “import” car demolition category, Emmett Hottendorf took first place, followed by David Brown, Mackynzie Trout and Brand Olson in second, third and fourth, respectively.

After Josh Levine, “big car” winners were Mason McKinley and Logan Stanley.

The crowd’s choice for “prettiest car,” a title determined by cheers, was car No. 751, driven by Victoria Rae, sponsored by Working Man’s Restoration and Automatic Transmission Specialists.

The youth car race was won by Wyatt Hottendorf.

In the “Jump-Your-Junk” competition, which made its first return to the fair in several years, driver Trevor Graves, of Napavine, was the only person to complete the jump. He was taken into an ambulance and transported to Providence Centralia Hospital with what organizers said were non-life threatening injuries, possibly whiplash.

Information on his condition was not available from the Fair Office or event organizers as of The Chronicle’s press deadline on Monday afternoon.
