Lewis County officials will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday to mark the opening of the new Community Development Center.

The event is scheduled for Wednesday at noon at 125 NW Chehalis Ave. in Chehalis. During the ceremony, residents are invited to tour the new building. Light refreshments will be provided.

“Being located near other county departments should make it easier for customers to find the services they need,” Community Development Director Mindy Brooks said in a county news release.

In recent years, the county has worked to consolidate services to the new, centralized campus. The new central campus will be the home of Lewis County’s community development offices and the environmental, health and information technology offices.

“Being located near the Historic Courthouse should make it easier for customers to find the services they need,” Lewis County Manager Ryan Barrett previously said. “The new building will also have upgraded technology that will provide for a better customer experience at the front counter.”
