Riverhawks end regular season with dominant rivalry win

The Toledo girls soccer team worked through a thick fog that enveloped Ted Hippi Field on Wednesday and came away with a 7-0 win over rival Winlock.

Maritza Salmeron bagged herself a hat trick on her senior night, scoring in the 32nd, 35th and 49th minutes.

Zaya Norberg, Quyn Norberg, Makenna Miller and Peyton Holter all added goals for the Riverhawks (5-10-1, 4-6-0 C2BL), who clinched one of the C2BL’s final spots to the eight-team league/district tournament next week.

They’ll take to the road next Monday, either facing No. 1 Kalama or No. 2 Napavine.

Winlock ends its season with a 1-12 record, and will miss the playoffs.
