The Adna boys basketball team got back in the win column on Saturday, using a strong second half to pull past Blaine 58-42.

Trevin Salme led the way with 21 points, all of which were scored on seven 3-pointers. He hit four of them in the third, a quarter where Adna (6-2, 3-1 C2BL) took over.

After going into the locker room tied at 21, the Pirates hit six threes and scored 22 points to take a nine-point lead into the fourth quarter.

The defense performed its best in the first and last quarter, as the Borderites scored just four points in the opening frame and eight in the fourth.

Jens Neilson added 13 points and Grayson Humphrey scored eight and dished out seven assists. Gavan Muller hauled in 13 rebounds, while Lane Johnson grabbed eight rebounds and tallied seven points.

The Pirates have now won four of their last five, and they’ll return to league play on Thursday at Toutle Lake.
