Originally scheduled to start on Sept. 25 in Randle, East Lewis County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors President Rhonda Cornwell announced the second annual Sasquatch: Beyond the Footprint festival has been officially postponed on Friday morning.
“This decision was made in response to the devastating wildfires and the significant economic and environmental challenges currently affecting communities across Washington state, Oregon and beyond,” Cornwell wrote in an East Lewis County Chamber Facebook post. “At this time, we cannot safely or responsibly move forward with the event. Our highest priority is the safety, health, and well-being of our attendees, staff and vendors, many of whom are facing evacuations, poor air quality, personal losses, rising fuel costs and other hardships that make travel and attendance difficult from across our state and beyond. We listened, and we agree that postponing the event is the most thoughtful and responsible decision for everyone involved. Our original plans for our event and speakers will remain the same.”
The second annual Sasquatch: Beyond the Footprint festival will now be held starting on June 11, 2027, to give people and communities time to recover. For those who already purchased tickets or bought vendor space, refunds will be available over the next week.
“All ticket purchases and vendor fees will be fully refunded automatically within 5 (to) 7 business days unless you choose to carry your ticket or vendor registration over to the June 2027 event. We will contact each ticket holder and vendor personally. No action is required at this time,” Cornwell added. “... We sincerely appreciate your understanding, patience, and continued support during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by the wildfires and the related hardships across our region.”

Speakers still scheduled to appear at the festival next June include Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization President and host of the Animal Plant show Finding Bigfoot Matt Moneymaker, along with other field researchers Nathaniel Bronis, Shane Corson, Shelly Covington, Jonathan Easley, Aslec Solunac, Dave Hill, Tim Lund, Jimmy Toungate, Rebel and Wendy Miner and Marc Myrsell. The festival will also feature live music performances, games, vendors and more for those camping out.
