The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a two-vehicle collision that caused injuries to several people at the intersection of Guava Street and Southwest 188th Avenue Southwest in Grand Mound on Friday.

Possible criminal charges are being considered as detectives continue the investigation, a Thurston County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson told a Chronicle reporter on Monday.

One person was airlifted from the scene for medical care while three to four other people sustained less severe injuries, according to the sheriff’s office.

The crash itself was reported as “a two-vehicle, mass casualty ALS entrapment collision” by the sheriff’s office in a Facebook post at 5:41 p.m. on Friday.

The intersection was shut down for an extended period of time on Friday as medical crews and detectives were on the scene.
