Sirens: Assault with a hammer; Student brings THC vape pen to school; Pit bulls on the loose; Woman treated for overdose

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Criminal trespass 

• Two occupants of a motorhome parked on private property in the 600 block of South Tower Avenue were trespassed from the property at approximately 8:55 a.m. on Nov. 8. 

• A 49-year-old homeless woman from Lacey was trespassed from a business in the 1000 block of Belmont Avenue just before 4:20 a.m. on Nov. 9. 

 

Burglary 

• A burglary to common areas inside an apartment complex in the 300 block of West Pine Street was reported at approximately 9:25 a.m. on Nov. 8. The case is under investigation. 

 

Theft 

• At approximately 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 8, a bicycle was reported stolen from the 1000 block of South Tower Avenue sometime overnight. 

• Four sheets of 4’x8’ plastic interior wallboard were reported stolen from the 1000 block of Kresky Avenue at approximately 2:25 p.m. on Nov. 8. The theft took place about three or four days prior. 

 

Vehicle accident 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported on private property in the 1400 block of Harrison Avenue just after 11:20 a.m. on Nov. 8. 

 

DUI 

• A 42-year-old Chehalis woman was arrested at the intersection of Pearl and Main streets just after 2 a.m. on Nov. 9 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail after she caused a collision. 

 

Drug violation 

• Officers were dispatched to Centralia Middle School in the 900 block of Johnson Road just after 12:45 p.m. on Nov. 8 for a report of a student bringing a vape pen/smoking device containing THC-laced oil. The case is under investigation. 

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Criminal trespass 

• At approximately 8 a.m. on Nov. 8, a subject reported a subject trespassed on a property in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue the night prior. 

• Subjects who reportedly had pitbulls that were trying to bite other dogs and a staff member outside a business in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue were trespassed from the business at approximately 9:15 a.m. on Nov. 8. 



 

Overdose 

• A 27-year-old female reportedly overdosed in the 300 block of West Main Street at approximately 9 a.m. on Nov. 9. She was treated by emergency medical services personnel and transported to a local hospital. 

 

Suspicious circumstances 

• A juvenile male between 10 and 11 years old wearing “red pajamas with no socks” was reportedly “asking everyone about ‘hat man’” in the 400 block of North Market Boulevard at approximately 3:10 p.m. on Nov. 8. 

• “Suspicious circumstances” reported in the 600 block of Northeast Franklin Avenue just before 5:15 p.m. on Nov. 8 are under investigation. 

 

Theft 

• A theft reported in the 1700 block of North National Avenue just before 3:20 p.m. on Nov. 8 is under investigation. 

A second-degree theft reported in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 3:40 p.m. on Nov. 8 is under investigation. 

 

Assault 

• Just before 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 8, a caller in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue reported  a male subject hit him in the face with a hammer and stole stuff from his RV about two hours prior. At least one subject was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail. 

Vehicle accident 

• A vehicle reportedly crashed into a neighbor’s tree in the 300 block of Southeast Crestview Drive at 12:10 a.m. on Nov. 9. No injuries were reported. 

 

Disorderly conduct 

• Just before 7:10 a.m. on Nov. 9, a caller reported a male subject yelled “You should get off your fat ass and use the stairs” at them while they were getting off the bus in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. 

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Thursday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 141 inmates, including 128 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 107 were reported male and 21 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.
