CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Death Investigation 

• A death reported in the 10 block of Southwest 10th Street just after 7:45 a.m. on Feb. 6 is under investigation. 

 

Malicious Mischief 

• Several incidents involving vandalism to vehicles in the 200 block of Southeast Washington Avenue that were reported just after 8:15 a.m. on Feb. 6 are under investigation. 

• A slashed tire was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 9:55 p.m. on Feb. 6. 

• A case of third-degree malicious mischief was reported in the 300 block of Southwest Eighth Street just after 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 7. 

 

Disorderly Conduct 

• A subject was reportedly “banging on stuff, yelling (and) causing a scene” in the 400 block of Northwest State Avenue just after 10:25 a.m. on Feb. 6. 

 

Theft 

• An unidentified male reportedly walked out of a business in the 1300 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue with over $1,000 of merchandise just after 5:10 p.m. on Feb. 6. 

 

Fraud

• A scam reported in the 300 block of Northwest North Street just before 6:30 a.m. on Feb. 7 is under investigation. 

• A case of “non-specific fraud” reported in the 300 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 1:40 p.m. on Feb. 7 is under investigation. 

 

Hit-and-Run 

• A hit-and-run reported in the 1300 block of Southwest McFadden Avenue just after 12:35 p.m. on Feb. 7 is under investigation. 

 

Woman Selling Puppies 

• A woman was reportedly “trying to sell puppies” in a parking lot in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 5:15 p.m. on Feb. 7. She left the property before law enforcement arrived at the scene. 

 

Assault 

• A subject was arrested in the 200 block of Interstate Avenue just after 12:30 a.m. on Feb. 8 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged third-degree assault. 



 

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Assault 

• A Centralia man was arrested in the 1000 block of B Street just after 1:35 p.m. on Feb. 5 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged fourth-degree assault. 

• Just before 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 7, a victim reported “they were hit over the head by a metal broom handle” wielded by a suspect “wearing all black and a skull mask” in the 2800 block of Russell Road. The suspect had not been identified as of Wednesday morning.

 

Vehicle Accidents 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Harrison and Belmont avenues at 8 p.m. on Feb. 5. 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and northbound Interstate 5 at 10:55 a.m. on Feb. 7. 

 

Burglary 

• A burglary to a residence in the 800 block of K Street that was reported just before noon on Feb. 6 is under investigation. 

 

Fraud 

• A subject reportedly attempted to use a fake $100 bill in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at approximately 9:50 a.m. on Feb. 7. The case is under investigation. 

 

Theft 

• At 8:50 a.m. on Feb. 6, a vehicle prowl that occurred in the 300 block of North Buckner Street sometime in the last three days was reported. 

• At approximately 5:55 p.m. on Feb. 6, catalytic converters were reported stolen from the 1000 block of North Scheuber Road sometime in the last few days. 

• Groceries were reported stolen from a business in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue just after 3:10 p.m. on Feb. 7. The case is under investigation. 

• Construction items were reported stolen from the 1100 block of Long Road just after 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 7. 

• Shoes were reported stolen from a business in the 1300 block of Lum Road just after 6:50 p.m. on Feb. 7. 

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 158 inmates, including 145 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 111 were reported male and 34 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.
