CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Disorderly Conduct 

• At 11:45 a.m. on July 14, a caller in the 700 block of Northwest Maryland Avenue reported their neighbor was “being aggressive,” stating the neighbor broke the mirror off of the caller’s truck and was blocking an alley so the caller could not drive through. 

• A woman was reportedly “screaming and yelling” inside a vehicle in the 200 block of Southwest James Street just before 10:10 p.m. on July 14. 

• A male subject was reportedly “yelling random stuff” at the intersection of Southwest Cascade Avenue and Southwest 10th Street at approximately 9 p.m. on July 15. 

• Juveniles were reportedly “outside throwing stuff around” and “screaming and playing baseball” in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street just after 1 a.m. on July 17. 

 

Vehicle Accidents 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in a parking lot in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 12:50 p.m. on July 14. 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 1900 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 2:25 p.m. on July 14. 

• A two-vehicle collision was reported in the 600 block of Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way at approximately 9:20 a.m. on July 16. A 13-year-old boy sustained minor injuries. 

• A car reportedly ran over a garbage can in the 600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 7:30 p.m. on July 16. 

 

Theft 

• A subject was arrested in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 2:10 p.m. on July 14 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for third-degree theft. 

• A subject was arrested in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 6:05 p.m. on July 14 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for third-degree theft. 

• A wallet and a backpack were reported stolen out of a vehicle in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue at 7:35 p.m. on July 15. The suspect(s) reportedly broke the vehicle’s passenger side window to steal the items. 

• A male subject was arrested in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 9:15 p.m. on July 15 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for second-degree theft. 

• Just after 10:50 a.m. on July 16, a vehicle prowl that occurred in the 300 block of Southeast Washington Avenue sometime overnight was reported. 

• A title was reported stolen out of a vehicle in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 11 a.m. on July 16. 

• A wallet was reported stolen from the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 7:35 p.m. on July 16.

• An attempted theft reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 9 p.m. on July 16 is under investigation. 

 

Death Investigation 

• A death reported in the 300 block of Southwest Pacific Avenue just after 11:10 p.m. on July 14 is under investigation. 

 

Assault 

• A case of third-degree assault of a staff member at a facility in the 1200 block of Southwest Pacific Avenue was reported just after 11:20 p.m. on July 14. 

 

Found Child 

• A child was found in the roadway in the 100 block of Southwest 10th Street at approximately 12:05 p.m. on July 15 and was returned to their parent. 

 

Suspicious Circumstances 

• At 1:50 p.m. on July 15, a caller reported they were being stalked by a gray Jeep in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. 

• A case involving a suspicious vehicle that was reported in the 300 block of Southeast Washington Avenue just after 6:20 p.m. on July 16 is under investigation. 

• A brush fire was reported in the 2500 block of North National Avenue just after 9:40 p.m. on July 16. The reporting party stated a “subject with a blanket over their head” was seen near the scene and suspected the subject had started the fire. No arrests were made. 

 

Criminal Trespass 

• A subject was issued a verbal warning for camping on public property in the 800 block of West Main Street just after 2:40 p.m. on July 15. 

• A case of trespassing was reported in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue just after 6:05 p.m. on July 15. 

• Two subjects were trespassed from a business in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard at 10:45 p.m. on July 15.

• A subject in an SUV was moved along from the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard at approximately 1:30 a.m. on July 16. 

• A subject who was found sleeping on a picnic table at the Southwest Washington Fairgrounds in the 2500 block of North National Avenue just before 2:55 p.m. on July 16 was trespassed from the property. 

• A car reportedly set off the burglar alarm on a property in the 1500 block of Northwest State Avenue just before 9:10 p.m. on July 16. The subjects in the vehicle were trespassed from the property. 



• A subject was arrested in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 9:25 p.m. on July 16 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for trespassing. 

 

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Homeless Camp 

• At approximately 12:50 p.m. on July 14, a resident of the 500 block of South Ash Street “called to report that a transient camp was developing across the street from his house,” according to the Centralia Police Department. 

 

Theft 

• Grocery items were reported stolen from a store in the 300 block of West Reynolds Avenue just before 1:10 p.m. on July 14. 

• Shoes were reported stolen from a business in the 1300 block of Lum Road just after 4:15 p.m. on July 14. The case is under investigation. 

• A license plate was reported stolen off of a vehicle in the 200 block of East Carson Street just after 7:25 p.m. on July 14. 

• A bicycle was reported stolen from the 300 block of East Pear Street just before 8:35 p.m. on July 14. 

• A purse was reported stolen from the 1300 block of Lum Road just after 4:40 p.m. on July 16. 

 

Vehicle Accidents 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and Ives Road just before 1:55 p.m. on July 14. The at-fault driver was issued a citation. 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 700 block of Harrison Avenue just before 3:35 p.m. on July 3. 

• A vehicle versus pedestrian collision was reported in the 500 block of South Ash Street just after 6:05 p.m. on July 14. Injuries were reported, but the Centralia Police Department did not disclose information on who was injured or the severity of the injury. The case is under investigation. 

• Injuries were reported following a two-vehicle collision in the 600 block of West Main Street at 3:25 p.m. on July 16. The Centralia Police Department did not disclose information on who was injured or the severity of the injury.

 

Hit-and-Run 

• A 26-year-old Centralia man was cited for a hit-and-run in the 1200 block of Mellen Street just before 6:55 p.m. on July 15. 

• A hit-and-run reported at the intersection of North Pearl and West Sixth streets just before 7:10 p.m. on July 15 is under investigation. 

 

Drones 

• At 9:45 a.m. on July 15, a citizen in the 1000 block of F Street called to “complain about drones flying around (a) specific property and how they would like to shoot them down,” according to the Centralia Police Department. The citizen was “informed to research the civil laws where drones can and cannot fly. They were also advised that discharging a firearm in city limits is a crime in some cases,” according to the department. 

 

Assault 

• At approximately 9:55 p.m. on July 15, a subject in the 1200 block of South Gold Street reported “being struck in the face by an unknown object by an unknown person,” according to the Centralia Police Department. The subject sustained minor injuries. 

• A subject was arrested in the 500 block of South Pearl Street just after 10:30 p.m. on July 16 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence. 

 

Criminal Trespass 

• Homeless people from Chehalis were reportedly trespassing on private property in the 800 block of Field Avenue just before 12:15 a.m. on July 16. 

 

Sexual Misconduct 

• A possible sexual assault reported in the 1400 block of Oxford Avenue just before 2:15 p.m. on July 16 is under investigation. 

 

Dispute 

• A family dispute was reported in the 1100 block of South Pearl Street at approximately 7:05 p.m. on July 16. 

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 174 inmates, including 161 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 134 were reported male and 27 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.
