Sirens: Burglars hit two Centralia businesses; feces wiped on door handles; $1,300 in merchandise stolen from store

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Theft

• A package was reported stolen from the 1700 block of Juneman Street at approximately 10:10 a.m. on June 11.

• Ear buds were reported stolen from the 700 block of Allen Avenue while the owner was attending a sporting event at 1:25 p.m. on June 11.

• An unidentified suspect stole approximately $1,300 of merchandise from a store in the 1300 block of Lum Road just after 7 p.m. on June 11. The suspect fled the scene in a blue Mazda SUV with no plate and a broken back window that was parked in front of the store.

• A bicycle was reported stolen from the 900 block of North Pearl Street at 7:45 a.m. on June 12.

• A 43-year-old homeless Chehalis man was cited for stealing a blanket in the 100 block of North Gold Street at 5:10 a.m. on June 13. He was booked into the Lewis County Jail on an outstanding Chehalis Municipal Court warrant.

 

Malicious mischief

• Damage to a vehicle in the 2500 block of Kristine Court was reported at approximately 7:25 p.m. on June 11.

 

Assault

• A 46-year-old Centralia woman was arrested in the 400 block of North Ash Street just before 9 p.m. on June 11 and was booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence.

• A 39-year-old Centralia man was arrested in the 1500 block of Logan Street just after 9:50 p.m. on June 11 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence.

 

Criminal trespass

• A 28-year-old Toledo man was arrested for breaking into a closed business in the 400 block of North Tower Avenue just after 1:25 a.m. on June 12.

• A homeless Montana woman was trespassed from a park in the 2000 block of Borst Avenue after an officer saw her with alcohol just before 8:05 p.m. on June 13.

 

Disorderly conduct

• A 52-year-old Centralia man was arrested for disorderly conduct in the 100 block of West Maple Street just after 1:30 p.m. on June 12.

• A man began behaving disorderly when asked to leave a business in the 100 block of West Pine street just after 8:20 a.m. on June 12. He left the area before officers arrived.

• An unidentified man reportedly wiped feces on the front door handles of a convenience store in the 200 block of Downing Road at 5:30 a.m. on June 14.

 

Burglary

• Just before 9:25 a.m. on June 13, a business in the 1700 block of South Gold Street reported their back door had been broken open and a safe with case had been stolen. Officers had no suspect information at the time of the report.

• A laptop, a laser and a computer monitor were reported stolen from a construction company in the 1300 block of Alexander Avenue just after 12:05 p.m. on June 13. The back door to the business was forced open. Officers had no suspect information at the time of the report.

 

Drug violation



• A 53-year-old Rochester woman was cited for possession of a controlled substance in the 1000 block of Belmont Avenue just before 11:30 p.m. on June 13.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Suspicious circumstances

• A man was reportedly carrying a holstered pistol at a park in the 200 block of Southwest 13th Street at 3:10 p.m. on June 12.

 

Theft

• A subject was arrested for shoplifting in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 6:50 p.m. on June 12.

 

Juvenile problem

• A 13-year-old boy was reportedly throwing items, including pool balls, at his family members and threatening to harm others in the 300 block of Southeast Hillsdale Lane at 9:45 p.m. on June 12.

 

Assault

• A fourth-degree assault was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 11:15 p.m. on June 12.

 

Disorderly conduct

• A man was reportedly “screaming bloody murder” in the 700 block of Northwest State Avenue at approximately 12:55 a.m. on June 13. An officer “told him to stop yelling and go home,” and the man “said ‘okay.’”

 

Dispute

• A possible verbal dispute was reported in the 100 block of Southwest Cascade Avenue just after 6:30 a.m. on June 13.

 

FIRE AND EMS CALLS

• Between Monday morning and Wednesday morning, Lewis County 911 Communications logged approximately 39 illness-related calls, 18 injury-related calls, six fire-related calls, three non-emergency service calls, two vehicle accidents, two Lifeline medical alerts, one report of a dead body, one overdose and five other calls.

 

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 117 inmates, including 104 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 80 were reported male and 24 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.

• As of Friday morning, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total system population of 10 inmates, including six booked by the Centralia Police Department, two booked by the state Department of Corrections, one booked by the Tenino Police Department and one booked by the Lummi Nation.
