Sirens: Cited for unlawful weapon display; construction equipment stolen; tree falls on truck; boyfriend reportedly 'drunk, being belligerent and won’t calm down'

Criminal trespass

• A 48-year-old Centralia woman was cited for trespassing in the 700 block of North Tower Avenue at approximately 11:35 a.m. on April 3 for “going back inside a building that police had just minutes before told her she was trespassed from.”

• A homeless Toledo man was trespassed from a business in the 200 block of South Pearl Street after he was “located inside a locked dumpster” just after 8:35 a.m. on April 4.

• A homeless man was trespassed from the Seminary Hill Nature Area in the 700 block of East Locust Street after he was found camping at 9:50 a.m. on April 4. He was given information on local resources.

• A shoplifting suspect was trespassed from a business in the 300 block of Reynolds Avenue just before 4:50 p.m. on April 4.

• A homeless Salkum man “who was yelling at customers” at a business in the 100 block of North Tower Avenue was trespassed from the business at 8:25 p.m. on April 4.

 

Disorderly conduct

• A disorderly subject was reported at a shelter in the 100 block of North Gold Street at 4:55 p.m. on April 5.

 

Vehicle accident

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 200 block of Harrison Avenue just after 2:40 p.m. on April 3. A vehicle rear-ended a vehicle that had stopped to make a left turn.

 

Agency assist

• Officers assisted Child Protective Services in responding to a report of a man who was “having a mental health issue and was possibly threatening other residents with a knife” in the 1100 block of Cobra Lane just after 3:25 p.m. on April 3. Officers “were able to gain (the man’s) compliance” and he put the knife down, according to the Centralia Police Department. He was transported to Providence Centralia Hospital for mental health treatment.

 

Unlawful weapon display

• A 33-year-old Chehalis man was cited for unlawful weapon display in the 1100 block of West Walnut Street at approximately 3:55 p.m. on April 3 for allegedly “pulling up his shirt to show he had a gun to a person he was in a verbal argument with.” Officers seized the man’s pistol.

 

Theft

• A theft reported at a business in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue just after 10:50 a.m. on April 4 is under investigation. The suspect has been identified.

• Construction equipment and tools were reported from a construction company’s job site in the 1300 block of Alexander Street just after 11 a.m. on April 4. The case is under investigation.

• A decorative skeleton was reported stolen from a yard in the 1200 block of West Main Street at 3:35 p.m. on April 4.

 

Assault

• Just after 11:30 a.m. on April 4, an assault that occurred in the 100 block of South Tower Avenue the day prior was reported. The case is under investigation.

Harassment

• A case of harassment reported in the 300 block of West Main Street just after 8:10 a.m. on April 3 is under investigation.

 

Theft

• At 10:45 a.m. on April 3, a citizen reported seeing a stolen white Subaru in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard.

• A theft reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 5 p.m. on April 3 is under investigation.

 

Scam

• An internet scam was reported in the 1800 block of Southwest Fair Avenue just after 11 a.m. on April 3. The reporting party said the scammer was “requesting he pick up some gift cards”

 

Suspicious circumstances

• A “possible kidnapping” was reported at the intersection of Northeast Kresky Avenue and Northeast Hampe Way just before 1:05 p.m. on April 3. The reporting party said they heard a woman “screaming ‘let me out I have a family’” from a moving vehicle.

• Just before 5:10 p.m. on April 3, a citizen reported a woman got out of her car and started hitting the reporting party’s car after he pulled over for an ambulance in the 500 block of Southwest Parkland Drive.

• A woman in the 1000 block of Southwest 20th Street reported “her boyfriend is drunk, being belligerent (and) won’t calm down” just after 3 a.m. on April 4. The woman later advised “she just called the cops to prove that she would actually call on her boyfriend to quiet him down.” Officers determined no crime had occurred.

 

Vehicle accident

• A tree reportedly fell on a truck in the 1800 block of Northeast Kresky Avenue at approximately 2:45 p.m. on April 3. No injuries were reported. The tree was removed from the roadway.

 

Assault

• A man was reportedly “beating up a female” at the intersection of Northeast Cascade and Northeast Washington avenues just before 12:55 a.m. on April 4. Responding officers were unable to locate either the subject or the victim.

 

FIRE AND EMS CALLS

• Between Monday morning and Wednesday morning, Lewis County 911 Communications logged approximately 37 illness-related calls, 11 injury-related calls, five fire-related calls, four vehicle accidents, 12 non-emergency service calls, one Lifeline medical alert, one overdose, one suicide-related call, one ambulance request, one medical helicopter request and five other calls.

 

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 143 inmates, including 130 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 101 were reported male and 29 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.

• As of Wednesday morning, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total system population of 21 inmates, including eight booked by the Centralia Police Department, 10 booked by the state Department of Corrections, one booked by the Lummi Nation and two booked by Chehalis Tribal Court.
