CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Criminal trespass 

• A group of homeless people from Centralia and Chehalis were trespassed from the front alcove area of a business in the 100 block of North Rock Street at approximately 8:15 a.m. on July 21 after the owner found them sleeping and trash spread around. They were all contacted by police and told not to come back on the property. They took the trash with them when they left, according to the Centralia Police Department.

• A homeless man from Chehalis was trespassed from the alcove area of a business in the 100 block of North Tower Avenue just before 9:55 a.m. on July 21. 

• A man from British Columbia was trespassed from a business in the 700 block of Harrison Avenue just after 10:15 a.m. on July 21 after he reportedly went in and out of the business several times after he was asked to leave.  

• A homeless person from Chehalis was warned for trespassing on private property in the 1600 block of West Reynolds Avenue just before 7:55 p.m. on July 21. 

• Two homeless individuals, one from Centralia and one from Pe Ell, were trespassed from a business in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just after 7:55 p.m. on July 22 for “making people feel uncomfortable.” 

• A Centralia resident was trespassed from a business in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at 8:45 p.m. on July 22 for “causing a disturbance inside the establishment.” 

• Officers responded to a trespass in progress at a residence in the 1100 block of West Reynolds Avenue at approximately 7:30 a.m. on July 24. The owner was out of town and had observed someone on his property via surveillance cameras, according to the Centralia Police Department. A male was seen fleeing on foot at the back of the property when officers arrived. The suspect was not located during a check of the surrounding area. It was unclear if the male suspect had taken anything. 

• A homeless person from Idaho was trespassed from a business in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue just before 8:45 a.m. on July 23 after he was found sleeping on the property.

• A 36-year-old Rochester man was arrested in the 1100 block of North Tower Avenue at 12:45 a.m. on July 23 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for first-degree criminal trespass, obstructing a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest after he allegedly fled and hid from officers attempting to arrest him on outstanding warrants. He was located on private property. 

• A homeless person from Centralia was trespassed from private property in the 1600 block of West Reynolds Avenue just before 7:05 p.m. on July 23 after they were found walking through it. 

• A homeless person from Yakima was trespassed from private property in the 1700 block of Harrison Avenue at approximately 9:10 p.m. on July 23 after they were found setting up camp. 

• Two homeless individuals, one from Morton and one from Longview, were warned for setting up camp in a city park at the intersection of East Locust Street and South Barner Drive just before 10:35 p.m. on July 23 and attempting to sleep there.

• Just before 12:10 a.m. on July 24, a homeless person from Longview was warned for being in a city park in the 100 block of South Pearl Street after closing. 

 

Counterfeiting 

• Just after 8:45 a.m. on July 21, a business in the 600 block of South Tower Avenue reported it accepted a fake $100 bill but did not discover it until later. The case is under investigation due to the clerk possibly knowing who gave them the fake bill. 

 

Overdose 

• A homeless man in the 200 block of North Washington Avenue was transported to the hospital at approximately 9 a.m. on July 21 after “what appeared to be an overdose that caused him to stop breathing,” according to the Centralia Police Department. A civilian and medics conducted CPR on the man and administered him several doses of Narcan. 

 

Vehicle accidents 

• A minor, non-injury collision was reported just after 1 p.m. on July 21 after one vehicle collided with the back of a stopped vehicle at the intersection of Harrison and Belmont avenues. 

• Injuries were reported following a single-vehicle collision that occurred at the intersection of North Tower Avenue and East Maple Street just after 5:15 p.m. on July 21. 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and West Bridge Street just before 11:20 a.m. on July 22. One vehicle exited from a business driveway onto Harrison Avenue and collided with the passenger side of another vehicle that had the right of way, according to the Centralia Police Department. 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 1300 block of Airport Road just before 3:20 p.m. on July 23. 

 

Hit-and-run 

• A hit-and-run was reported in the 2800 block of Russell Road just after 3:10 p.m. on July 23. 

 

Theft 

• Three pellet guns were reported stolen from a residence in the 1300 block of Crescent Avenue just after 1:25 p.m. on July 21. The theft occurred after the resident let an acquaintance stay in their home, according to the Centralia Police Department. 

• Two males reportedly stole shoes from a store in the 1300 block of Lum Road just before 3:25 p.m. on July 22 and fled the scene. Empty shoe boxes were found inside public bathrooms. One suspect was wearing a Red Air Jordan backpack and the other was wearing an Adidas backpack.

 

Burglary 

• A man is being investigated for a possible burglary after the residents of a home in the 600 block of J Street awoke to find the male inside their home at 6:05 a.m. on July 22. “It is believed the male was under the influence of intoxicants and possibly in need of mental health care,” according to the Centralia Police Department. The man was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

• A burglary to a building in the 1200 block of Alder Street was reported at 10:20 a.m. on July 23. The case is under investigation, 

 

Missing people

• Candice N. Aho, 34, of Centralia, was reported missing from the 100 block of West Maple Street by a significant other just after 9:20 a.m. on July 22. Aho was seen driving around Centralia in a gold-colored early 2000s truck. There is no indication of foul play at this time. The Centralia Police Department has issued an attempt to locate notice informing law enforcement and the community to notify the Centralia Police Department if she is located. 

• Delbert D. Petlig of Centralia was reported missing by his significant other just before 12:40 p.m. on July 22 after she could not find Delbert when they left a shelter in the 100 block of South Silver Street. There is no indication of foul play at this time. The Centralia Police Department has issued an attempt to locate notice informing law enforcement and the community to notify the Centralia Police Department if he is located. 

 

Dispute/ vehicle theft 

• Officers responded to a report of a physical dispute in the drive-thru of a restaurant in the 1200 block of Lum Road just after 2:30 p.m. on July 22. A male was reportedly hitting a female, who fled on foot. Officers arrived on scene and contacted both the reporting party and the male who had allegedly struck the female. After talking with the male and another witness, officers determined a motor vehicle was possibly stolen. The male was the owner of the vehicle and was trying to pull the female suspect out of his vehicle, according to the Centralia Police Department. 

 

Loitering 

• Four homeless people were reportedly loitering outside an outreach business in the 400 block of West Main Street just after 9:15 p.m. on July 22. 

 

DUI 

• Nicholas M. Faught, 38, of Camas, was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for a DUI at 1:50 a.m. on July 23 after he allegedly drove his vehicle recklessly, causing it to go over a curb and down an embankment, at which point it rolled and hit a fence. 

 

Malicious mischief 

• Damage to a vehicle in the 400 block of Jackson Street was reported at approximately 9:10 a.m. on July 23. 

 

Harassment 

• A 42-year-old homeless man from Idaho was arrested in the 300 block of North Tower Avenue just after 2:40 p.m. on July 23 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for harassment after he allegedly approached several individuals and threatened to kill them. 

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Disputes 



• A neighborhood dispute was reported in the 600 block of Southeast Dobson Court just after 12:45 p.m. on July 21. A property owner was complaining of kids being on her property. Two kids and a parent reportedly yelled at the property owner earlier that day “saying they can do what they want.” 

• A family dispute was reported in the 400 block of Northwest State Avenue just after 4:30 p.m. on July 21. 

• A physical dispute was reported in the 500 block of Northwest Pacific Avenue at approximately 2:05 a.m. on July 22. 

• A domestic dispute was reported in the 700 block of Harrison Avenue at 2:10 a.m. on July 23. A woman reportedly called law enforcement asking for help. 

 

Vehicle accidents 

• A non-injury vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Northwest Washington and Northwest Cascade avenues at 1:25 p.m. on July 21. 

• A non-injury vehicle collision was reported in the 400 block of Southwest Parkland Drive at 11:30 a.m. on July 22. 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 1300 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 12:45 p.m. on July 22. 

• A non-injury, three-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Southwest 11th Street and South Market Boulevard just before 11 p.m. on July 22. 

• A non-injury vehicle collision reported in the 1000 block of South Market Boulevard just before 1 p.m. on July 22 is under investigation. 

• A non-injury vehicle collision reported in the 1200 block of South Market Boulevard just after 3 p.m. on July 23 is under investigation. 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard just before 3:05 p.m. on July 23. 

• At approximately 4:35 p.m. on July 23, a caller reported their car was hit by a vehicle that was passing in the bike lane at the intersection of Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way and Northwest Louisiana Avenue. No injuries were reported. 

 

Hit-and-run 

• A hit-and-run was reported in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue at 4:20 p.m. on July 21. 

• A hit-and-run reported in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 6:10 p.m. on July 21 is under investigation. 

• A hit-and-run reported in the 1600 block of South Market Boulevard just after 2:45 p.m. on July 23 is under investigation. At least one subject was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail. 

 

Scam 

• A scam involving “extortion of the elderly” was reported in the 10 block of Northwest Boistfort Street at 3:20 p.m. on July 21. 

 

Assault 

• A case of fourth-degree assault was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 6:40 p.m. on July 21. A woman allegedly punched the reporting party in the face and shoved the reporting party’s daughter. No medical aid was required. 

 

Suspicious circumstances 

• A woman who “doesn’t seem like she’s all there” was reportedly loitering on a property in the 600 block of Northwest Arkansas Way just after 9:15 p.m. on July 21. She was asked to leave. 

• A woman was reportedly “dressed as a nun” and “walking back and forth” in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue just after 10:15 p.m. on July 21. 

• At approximately 8:50 p.m. on July 22, a caller in the 1300 block of Southwest William Avenue called to report “someone putting child porn on his computer.” Officers attempted to call the reporting party back several times and received no response. 

• A male and a female were reportedly “stripping their clothes off” at the intersection of North Front and Northwest Park streets just after 9:05 p.m. on July 23. 

 

Criminal Trespass 

• Two males were trespassed from property in the 700 block of West Main Street just before 11 p.m. on July 21. 

• A homeless woman who was reportedly “screaming inside her van” was trespassed from property in the 200 block of Southwest James Street just before 11:05 a.m. on July 22.  

• A homeless person who set up camp in the 2600 block of Northeast Kresky Avenue was trespassed from the area just before 7:30 p.m. on July 22. 

• A female was moved along from property in the 500 block of South Market Boulevard just after 7:45 a.m. on July 23. The female’s vehicle had reportedly been on the property since Friday. 

• A male was reportedly trespassing on property in the 2600 block of Northeast Kresky Avenue just after 7 a.m. on July 24. 

 

Stopped Train 

• Just after 10:15 a.m. on July 22, a caller reported a train had been blocking the roadway at the intersection of South Market Boulevard and West Main Street for the past 20 minutes. The caller advised “he is from Seattle and didn’t plan for this.” 

 

Theft 

• A vehicle prowl was reported in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 4:15 p.m. on July 22. 

• A female subject reportedly shoplifted a bucket full of items from a store in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 8:10 p.m. on July 22. She was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for second-degree burglary. 

• Fraudulent charges on a debit card were reported in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 3:30 p.m. on July 23. 

• A case of shoplifting was reported in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 4:25 p.m. on July 23. 

 

Disorderly Conduct 

• A female subject was arrested in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue at 9:30 p.m. on July 22 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for disorderly conduct after she was reportedly seen “beating on someone’s trailer.” 

• At 2:25 p.m. on July 25, a caller at a business in the 500 block of South Parkland Drive reported an employee was “screaming/cussing at her because she’s trying to cancel her room.” A male was reportedly heard “screaming at her in the background over her pet,” which the caller advised was a service animal. The caller was eventually given a cancellation and confirmation. 

 

DUI 

• Travis James Longenecker was arrested at the intersection of Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way and North National Avenue just after 8:30 p.m. on July 23 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for an alleged DUI. 

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 165 inmates, including 152 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 125 were reported male and 27 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.
