Sirens: Counterfeit Money; Gang Graffiti; Threats to Blow Up Building; Burglary; Eluding Police

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Malicious Mischief 

• A case of third-degree malicious mischief was reported on a property in the 100 block of South Market Boulevard just after 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 30. 

• At approximately 10:50 p.m. on Jan. 2, a caller reported a white car drove past him in the 1500 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue and “threw something at his windows and windshield.” No damage to the caller’s vehicle was reported. 

 

Harassment 

• Just after 12:45 p.m. on Dec. 30, a caller reported a semi truck driver “harassed her to move her vehicle so he could park” in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue. 

 

Hit-and-Run 

• A hit-and-run was reported in the 600 block of Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way just after 3:40 p.m. on Dec. 30. 

• A hit-and-run was reported in the 500 block of Southeast Washington Avenue just after 2:35 p.m. on Jan. 2. 

 

Vehicle Accidents 

• A vehicle reportedly crashed into a concrete block in the 600 block of Northwest State Avenue just after 4:15 p.m. on Jan. 1. No injuries were reported. 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle accident was reported in the 2600 block of Northeast Kresky Avenue at 8:25 a.m. on Jan. 3. 

 

Theft 

• A case of third-degree theft reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 3:55 p.m. on Dec. 30 is under investigation. 

• Two hats and an Airsoft mask were reported stolen from the 1500 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 5:20 p.m. on Jan. 2. 

• Items were reported stolen from a package in the 1500 block of North National Avenue at approximately 2:20 p.m. on Jan. 3. The reporting party stated the package had been delivered that morning and “was ripped open.” 

• A second-degree theft reported in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue just after 4:55 p.m. on Jan. 3 is under investigation. 

 

Burglary 

• Just before 10:45 a.m. on Jan. 3, a victim reported a burglary to his office and tool shed in the 1900 block of North National Avenue that occurred Friday night or early Saturday morning. Tools were reported missing and damage to the office and shed was reported. 

 

Eluding Police 

• A subject reportedly eluded police in a stolen vehicle after the vehicle’s owner called at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 31 to report finding the vehicle in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. 

 

Trespassed From Property 

• A woman who reportedly had a fire starter in her purse while in the fitting rooms of a business in the 1700 block of North National Avenue was trespassed from the business at approximately 3:20 p.m. on Jan. 1. 

 

Disorderly Conduct 

• A man reportedly started “yelling and making threats to kill everybody in (a) business” in the 1700 block of North National Avenue after employees “told him to take his backpack out of his cart.” The man left the property on foot without incident. 



• A woman was reportedly “trying to spit on a male subject at (the) bus stop” at the intersection of West Main Street and Northwest Pacific Avenue at 9:10 a.m. on Jan. 2. 

• A suspicious male who reportedly “threatened to blow up (a) building” in the 1700 block of North National Avenue on Jan. 1 was reportedly “spazzing out in the parking lot” just after 3:15 p.m. on Jan. 2. 

• A man was reportedly “outside yelling, causing a commotion (and) going after someone’s kids” in the 1500 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 4:55 p.m. on Jan. 3. 

 

Disputes 

• A verbal dispute was reported in the 2100 block of North National Avenue at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 2. 

• A “disturbance/dispute” reported at the intersection of Northeast Coal Creek Road and North National Avenue at 5:40 a.m. on Jan. 4 is under investigation.

 

Suspicious Vehicle 

• A suspicious vehicle reported in the 300 block of Southwest 16th Street just after 7:05 a.m. on Jan. 4 is under investigation. 

 

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Stolen Vehicle Recovery

• A pickup reported stolen out of Kent was recovered in the 600 block of South Silver Street just before 10:05 a.m. on Jan. 2. 

 

Theft 

• Grocery items were reported stolen from a store in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just after 3:25 p.m. on Jan. 3. 

 

Malicious Mischief

• Graffiti on a fence in the 1400 block of Windsor Avenue was reported just after 6:10 p.m. on Jan. 2. 

• “Gang graffiti” was reported in “numerous locations” in the 300 block of north Oak Street just after 10:45 a.m. on Jan. 3. 

 

Counterfeiting 

• A male suspect reportedly attempted to pass a counterfeit $100 bill in the 1300 block of Lum Road just before 6:55 p.m. on Jan. 2. 

 

Assault 

• A Centralia man was arrested in the 700 block of F Street just after 9:20 p.m. on Jan. 3 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence. 

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 149 inmates, including 135 in the general population and 14 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 106 were reported male and 29 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 12 were reported male and two were reported female.
