Sirens: Dog Overdoses on Fentanyl; Criminal Impersonation; Missing Child; Disorderly Conduct; Assault

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Dog Overdose 

• Just after 7:05 a.m. on July 12, a resident in the 700 block of F Street reported their 3-pound dog had contact with fentanyl inside their residence and was unresponsive. The resident administered Narcan to the dog and transported it to a veterinarian for treatment. The dog survived, according to the Centralia Police Department. 

 

Drug Violation 

• A 25-year-old Centralia woman was arrested in the 2000 block of Borst Avenue just after 10:35 a.m. on July 12 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail on an outstanding warrant and for knowingly possessing a controlled substance. 

 

Criminal Trespass 

• Just after 8:10 a.m. on July 12, an employee at a business in the 1000 block of Belmont Avenue reported an assault by an unidentified homeless man. The employee asked that the man, who had already left, be trespassed from the property. Officers were unable to locate the man. 

• A homeless Centralia man was trespassed from a business in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just after 12:30 p.m. on July 12. 

• A 54-year-old Centralia resident was cited for trespassing in the 1000 block of Eckerson Road just after 3:05 p.m. on July 12. 

• A 54-year-old Centralia resident was cited for trespassing in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at 10:25 a.m. on July 13. 

• A man was reportedly loitering on railroad tracks at the intersection of South Gold and Floral streets at 3:15 p.m. on July 13. The man, identified as a homeless Centralia resident, was trespassed from the property. 

• A homeless Tenino resident was trespassed from private property in the 1200 block of Sunset Way at approximately 5:30 p.m. on July 13. 

 

Criminal Impersonation 

• Officers responded to a report of a woman trespassing on personal property in the 100 block of North Oak Street and assaulting a resident just after 10:15 a.m. on July 12. The resident reported the woman, who was identified as a 26-year-old from Spokane, had come onto his porch and when he confronted her and told her to leave, she allegedly attempted to punch him. Officers located the woman, who allegedly provided officers with a false name “to prevent going to jail on an outstanding warrant,” according to the Centralia Police Department. She was arrested and while officers were placing her in a patrol car, she allegedly “attempted to push past the officer in an attempt to flee but was unsuccessful.” She was booked into the Lewis County Jail and has since been charged in Lewis County Superior Court with one count each of first-degree criminal impersonation, fourth-degree assault and obstructing a law enforcement officer. Bail is set at $10,000 and arraignment is scheduled for Thursday, July 20. 

 

Vehicle Accidents 

• A driver sustained minor injuries after their vehicle struck a concrete viaduct column in the 800 block of South Tower Avenue just after 2:05 p.m. on July 12. 

• A 20-year-old Centralia man was cited for operating a motor vehicle without a license after he was involved in a traffic accident at the intersection of Melody Court and Sandra Avenue just before 7:45 p.m. on July 13. 

 

Missing Child 

• An 8-year-old boy was reported missing just after 2:35 p.m. on July 12 after he left his residence in the 1000 block of West Main Street on his bicycle about an hour prior. Officers located the child several blocks away. 

 

Theft 

• A 31-year-old homeless woman from Spokane was cited for shoplifting juice from a store in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue at approximately 9:30 a.m. on July 13. 

• Laundry was reported stolen from the 500 block of North Pearl Street just after 8 p.m. on July 13. 

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Disputes 



• A verbal dispute involving a male and a female was reported in the 200 block of West Main Street just after 7:35 a.m. on July 12. During the call, the male reportedly took the female’s phone, told officers “I have a good job, I work for Boeing,” then hung up. Officers attempted to call back multiple times, with no response. 

• A verbal dispute was reported in the 100 block of Southwest 11th Street at approximately 8:30 p.m. on July 12. 

 

Criminal Trespass 

• A woman found sleeping outside a front door in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue just after 9:45 a.m. on July 12 was moved along. 

• A female with a flashlight was reportedly “trying to climb over the wall” at a property in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue just after 10:35 p.m. on July 12. Officers confirmed the subject was “just looking for her cat.” 

 

Vehicle Accident 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 2500 block of Northeast Kresky Avenue just after 1:05 p.m. on July 12. 

 

Theft 

• A backpack and money were reported stolen from the 200 block of Southwest 14th Street just after 2:20 p.m. on July 12. 

• A case of possible mail theft was reported in the 100 block of Northeast Hampe Way just after 1:30 p.m. on July 13. The reporting party advised he dropped off a check for $655 in a mail drop box at the Lewis County Mall on June 26 and it was never delivered. 

• A case of second-degree theft reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 9:55 p.m. on July 13 is under investigation. 

 

Disorderly Conduct 

• A disorderly woman was reportedly “honking (her car) horn and screaming” at the intersection of Southwest John Street and Southwest Pacific Avenue just after 3:55 p.m. on July 12. 

• A male subject who had “knives in both hands” was reportedly walking in the 2100 block of North National Avenue and “yelling at nothing” just after 7:50 p.m. on July 13. 

• A female subject was reportedly “sitting in her car, yelling” in the 300 block of Southwest James Street just before 10:35 p.m. on July 13. The reporting party stated they thought they heard gunshots from the subject’s vehicle 10-15 minutes prior. When contacted, the subject denied making any noise, according to the Chehalis Police Department. A responding officer noted that the “Inside of her windshield is now smashed in several spots using a can of chunky soup.” 

 

Harassment 

• Just before 8:40 p.m. on July 13, a caller in the 400 block of Southwest Cascade Avenue reported neighbors were threatening the caller and his wife and had been recording the caller’s young child. 

 

Assault 

• A subject was arrested in the 300 block of Northwest North Street just after 6:40 p.m. on July 12 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for third-degree assault. 

• Just after 11:55 p.m. on July 13, a female caller reported a case of fourth-degree assault where a man “shoved her out the front door and locked the door.” The suspect fled the scene and was not arrested. 

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 163 inmates, including 150 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 119 were reported male and 31 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.
