Sirens: DUI and fake ID arrest; assault, sexual misconduct reported at juvenile facility; possible kidnapping reported

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Theft

• A 20-year-old Centralia man was arrested in the 600 block of Centralia College Boulevard just after 9:50 a.m. on June 17 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for second-degree theft.

• A box of vapes was reported stolen from a convenience store in the 2300 block of North Pearl Street just after 8:30 p.m. on June 17. Footage of the suspect was captured on security cameras. The case is under investigation.

 

Assault

• A 70-year-old Winlock man was referred to the Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office for a third-degree assault reported in the 900 block of South Scheuber Road just before 10:35 a.m. on June 17.

 

Sexual misconduct

• A report of sexual misconduct made in the 600 block of North Gold Street at approximately 11:50 a.m. on June 17 is under investigation.

 

Criminal trespass

• A woman was trespassed from private property in the 200 block of East Summa Street just after 3 p.m. on June 17 at the property owner’s request.

 

Unlawful possession

• A homeowner in the 900 block of E Street turned over narcotics and a firearm that had been accidentally left in the residence at 9:35 p.m. on June 17. The case is under investigation.

 

Recovered vehicle

• A vehicle reported stolen out of Thurston County was found unoccupied in the 1200 block of Lum Road at 9:40 p.m. on June 17.

 

DUI

• Officers responded to a report of a woman nodding off in the driver’s seat of a vehicle parked in an alley in the 1200 block of South Tower Avenue at 10:10 a.m. on June 18. While en-route to the scene, officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and arrested the driver, 29, of Lacey, for DUI. Possession of a fake ID charges are being referred to a local prosecutor’s office.

 

Vehicle accident

• A non-injury vehicle vs. bus collision was reported in the 400 block of South Gold Street just after 6:20 p.m. on June 18.

 

Fraud

• A case of identity theft that occurred in January was reported in the 300 block of North Buckner Street just before 2 p.m. on June 18. The case is under investigation.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Under investigation

• A “civil process service” reported in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street just after 8:40 a.m. on June 14 is under investigation.

 

Theft

• A possible vehicle theft was reported in the 10 block of Northeast Division Street just before 8:45 a.m. on June 14. Officers confirmed the vehicle had been towed.

• A man was arrested for shoplifting in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 1:50 p.m. on June 15.

• Just before 7:05 p.m. on June 17, a citizen reported they got $20 cash back at the self-checkout of a business in the 1600 block of Louisiana Avenue, forgot to take the cash, went back for it a few minutes later and found it was gone.

• A third-degree theft reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 12:55 p.m. on June 18 is under investigation.

• A second-degree theft reported in the 1300 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 2:50 p.m. on June 18 is under investigation.

 

Green Hill School

• A case of sexual misconduct against a staff member at Green Hill School in the 300 block of Southwest 11th Street was reported at approximately 10:45 a.m. on June 14.

• At approximately 10:45 a.m. on June 14, Green Hill School in the 300 block of Southwest 11th Street reported an inmate assaulted a staff member the day prior.

 

Lost person

• A report of a lost person in the 700 block of Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way just after 11:55 a.m. on June 14 is under investigation.

 

Vehicle accidents

• A non-injury vehicle accident reported in the 1000 block of North National Avenue just after 1:15 p.m. on June 14 is under investigation.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 500 block of Northwest Pacific Avenue at approximately 12:10 a.m. on June 15.

• Minor injuries were reported following a rollover collision in the 1100 block of Southeast Evergreen Drive at 12:40 a.m. on June 15.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 1900 block of South Market Boulevard at approximately 12:40 p.m. on June 16. A two-year-old passenger was checked out by medical personnel.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way and Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 2:20 p.m. on June 16.



 

Hit-and-run

• A hit-and-run was reported in the 10 block of Southwest Third Street at 2:50 a.m. on June 17.

• A hit-and-run that occurred in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue on June 14 was reported just after 3:30 p.m. on June 17.

• A possible hit-and-run was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 4:05 p.m. on June 18.

 

Disputes

• Juveniles were reportedly fighting at the intersection of Southwest McFadden Avenue and Southwest 12th Street just after 1:40 p.m. on June 14.

• A possible dispute was reported in the 300 block of South Market Boulevard at 3:20 a.m. on June 15.

• A dispute was reported in the 1400 block of Southwest Mills Avenue just before 11:50 p.m. on June 16.

 

Suspicious circumstances

• A child between the ages of 2 and 3 was reportedly alone in a vehicle in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 2:05 p.m. on June 14.

• At 2:50 p.m. on June 14, a citizen reported seeing a man buying items in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue for a young girl who looked like a child from a missing person’s poster.

• Just after 10:15 p.m. on June 15, a citizen requested a welfare check on a woman in the 100 block of Southwest Third Street who was hitting herself in the head and yelling that she was “going to cut a guy’s … privates off and shove it in his mouth.”

• A man was reportedly pointing a laser at a house in the 300 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue at approximately 11:45 p.m. on June 16.

• A second-hand report of a possible kidnapping was made in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue just after 9:40 a.m. on June 18. The subject was reportedly taken against his will the night prior, taken to Yelm to take money out of his account, then returned for breakfast in the morning.

• Juveniles were possibly “prowling around cars” in the 400 block of Northeast Washington Avenue at approximately 1:20 a.m. on June 19.

 

Harassment

• A citizen in the 1200 block of Northwest Maryland Avenue reported receiving a threatening text message from an unknown number at approximately 3:40 p.m. on June 17.

• A citizen in the 10 block of Southwest William Avenue reported his ex-girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend was calling and harassing him just before 7:45 p.m. on June 17.

 

Disorderly conduct

• A customer was reportedly “freaking out” and “screaming” inside a store in the 1500 block of Northwest Louisiana avenue just after 4:45 p.m. on June 14. He reportedly threw hot milk at an employee, tried to kick another employee, then went out into the street, where he reportedly continued screaming.

• A man was reportedly rummaging through garbage cans and spreading garbage around in the 700 block of Northwest State Avenue just before 7 p.m. on June 16.

• A disorderly woman was reportedly walking a little dog and yelling at children in the 10 block of Southwest First Street just before 4:45 p.m. on June 18.

 

Criminal trespass

• Two subjects with bicycles reportedly trespassed at an apartment building in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street just after 2:05 p.m. on June 15.

• An employee who was fired from a business in the 300 block of Southwest 11th Street was reportedly refusing to leave the business’ parking lot just after 11 p.m. on June 18.

 

Assault

• A fourth-degree assault was reported in the 100 block of Southwest Cascade Avenue just after 9:05 a.m. on June 17.

 

Malicious mischief

• At approximately 5 p.m. on June 17, a citizen in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue reported someone had keyed his vehicle between 2 and 3 p.m. that day and had left a political sign including a sexual slur.

 

Criminal trespass

• A woman reportedly told an employee who asked her to leave a business in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue  “I’m not leaving until you call the cops” just before 12:45 a.m. on June 18. She was trespassed from the business.

 

Drug violation

• A subject was cited for possession of meth in the 1900 block of Northeast Kresky Avenue just after 7:50 a.m. on June 18.

• A woman with a 10-year-old child was reportedly in distress, washing her hair in the sink of a business restroom in the 200 block of Southwest 13th Street and saying “I’m going to be alright” just before 10:50 a.m. on June 18. Medical personnel were called approximately 10 minutes later when it was determined she was overdosing. She was cited for a drug violation.

 

FIRE AND EMS CALLS

• Between Monday morning and Wednesday morning, Lewis County 911 Communications logged approximately 36 illness-related calls, seven injury-related calls, nine fire-related calls, two non-emergency service calls, two vehicle accidents, one 911 hangup, one suicide-related call, one pregnancy-related call, one ambulance request and two other calls.

 

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 110 inmates, including 123 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 86 were reported male and 24 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.

• As of Wednesday morning, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total system population of 10 inmates, including six booked by the Centralia Police Department, three booked by the state Department of Corrections and one booked by the Lummi Nation.
