Sirens: Juveniles Steal Tip Jar; DUI Arrests; Possession of Stolen Vehicle ; Lewis County Jail Statistics

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Vehicle Accident 

• A minor, non-injury vehicle accident was reported at the intersection of Caveness Drive and Johnson Road at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 19. 

 

Theft 

• A trench coat and purses were reported stolen from an outlet store in the 1300 block of Lum Road just before 11:40 p.m. on Dec. 19. 

• Over $1,500 worth of clothing was reported stolen from an outlet store in the 100 block of West High Street just after 3:10 p.m. on Dec. 19. 

• A Centralia woman was arrested in the 1400 block of Harrison Avenue just after 11 a.m. on Dec. 20 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for second-degree theft after she allegedly entered the victim’s residence and stole their credit cards. 

• Two juvenile males reportedly stole the tip jar from a business in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at 4:55 p.m. on Dec. 20. 

• A neon “open” sign was reported stolen from the 200 block of Downing Road just after 7 a.m. on Dec. 21. 

 

Possession of Stolen Vehicle 

• Two subjects were arrested in the 1300 block of Lum Road just before 7 p.m. on Dec. 19 and were booked into the Lewis County Jail for possession of a stolen vehicle. One of the subjects was also booked on outstanding Centralia and Chehalis municipal court warrants. 

 

Malicious Mischief 

• Damage to a door knob on an abandoned house in the 1200 block of Mellen Street was reported just after noon on Dec. 19. 

 

Drug Violation 

• A Centralia man was cited for possession of heroin and meth in the 2000 block of Borst Avenue at 2:40 a.m. on Dec. 20. 

 



Trespassing 

• A Centralia man was cited for first-degree criminal trespass at 7:25 p.m. on Dec. 20 after he allegedly entered a business he was trespassed from in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue. 

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Hit-and-Run 

• A hit-and-run was reported in the 600 block of Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way just after 12:50 p.m. on Dec. 19. 

 

Trespassed From Property 

• Two subjects who were reportedly attempting to shoplift from a business in the 1700 block of North National Avenue were trespassed from the property just before 3:15 p.m. on Dec. 19. 

• At 4:45 p.m. on Dec. 19, a subject at a bank in the 400 block of Northwest Chehalis Avenue reportedly called to report “the bank is stealing money from him and the worker there cut up a card in front of him.” Staff at the bank reported the subject “made a threat about getting his gun” and asked that he be trespassed. 

 

DUI 

• Camille M. Ponyah, 24, of Chehalis was arrested at the intersection of Northeast Division Street and Northeast Franklin Avenue just before 1 a.m. on Dec. 20 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly driving under the influence. 

• Shawn O. Fuller, 39, of Chehalis was arrested at the intersection of Kresky Avenue and Fair Street just before 1:10 a.m. on Dec. 21 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly driving under the influence. 

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 149 inmates, including 135 in the general population and 14 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 106 were reported male and 29 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 12 were reported male and two were reported female.
