Sirens: Man Arrested for Spitting on Someone; Eluding Police; Criminal Impersonation; Disorderly Subjects

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Theft 

• An electric bicycle that was mounted on a car’s bike rack was reported stolen from the 100 block of North Iron Street just after 2:10 p.m. on May 25. 

• Items were reported stolen from a store in the 400 block of East Summa Street at 7:30 a.m. on May 26. The case is under investigation. 

• A case of third-degree theft reported in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue just after 10:55 a.m. on May 26 is under investigation. 

• A silver 2008 BMW with the Washington state license plate ABB5888 was reported stolen sometime between April and the time the report was made at approximately 5 p.m. on May 26. 

• A cellphone was reported stolen from a business in the 1100 block of Johnson Road at approximately 6:30 p.m. on May 26. Charges against a suspect have been referred to a local prosecutor's office. 

 

Criminal Trespass 

• Officers responded to a report of a disorderly subject at a business in the 800 block of Harrison Avenue at 6:50 p.m. on May 25. The subject, identified as a homeless man from Glenoma, was reportedly “being aggressive toward employees, throwing things and refusing to leave.” He was trespassed from the property at the business’ request. 

• Officers responded to a report of a disorderly subject at a business in the 300 block of Reynolds Avenue at approximately 7 p.m. on May 25. The subject, identified as a homeless man from Glenoma, was reportedly “yelling at customers and throwing things from his vehicle.” He was trespassed from the property at the business’ request. 

• A Chehalis man and a Glenoma woman who had a motorhome parked in a business parking lot in the 600 block of West Main Street were asked to leave just before 7:35 p.m. on May 27. The man reportedly became “verbally aggressive” with staff, prompting them to call the police. Officers arrived and trespassed the two subjects from the property. 

 

Vehicle Accidents 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 1600 block of Harrison Avenue just before 2:30 p.m. on May 25. 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Centralia College Boulevard and South King Street at 11:05 a.m. on May 26. 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of North Pearl and West Sixth streets just after 2:25 p.m. on May 26. 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of North Tower Avenue and East Fourth Street just after 4:05 p.m. on May 26. 

 

 

Disorderly Conduct 

• A disorderly subject was reportedly yelling at vehicles in the 1600 block of Harrison Avenue just before 8:55 a.m. on May 26. Officers gave the subject a courtesy transport to a local social service provider. 

 

Criminal Impersonation 

• Officers were dispatched to a welfare check on a male and female slumped over inside a vehicle at the intersection of South Tower Avenue and East Chestnut Street just after 10:10 p.m. on May 25.  Officers arrived on scene and observed the subjects slumped over inside the vehicle with drug paraphernalia strewn around them.  The male passenger, a 34-year-old Randle man, allegedly  provided a false name to officers in an attempt to avoid arrest on outstanding Department of Corrections and Centralia Municipal Court warrants.  After a consented search of the vehicle, officers located and recovered suspected fentanyl and drug paraphernalia.  The man was booked into the Lewis County Jail for the outstanding warrants and for first-degree criminal impersonation. Additional possession of controlled substance charges against both passengers have been referred to a local prosecutor’s office. 



 

Dispute 

• A dispute was reported at the intersection of North Tower Avenue and East Maple Street just after 3:05 a.m. on May 26. 

 

Malicious Mischief 

• Damage to a vehicle in the 1200 block of Alder Street was reported just after 11:20 a.m. on May 26. 

• Damage to a window in the 1300 block of Lum Road was reported just after 11:35 p.m. on May 27. The damage was possibly caused by a bb. 

 

Eluding 

• A red early 2000’s Ford pickup and a 1990’s Maroon Chevrolet pickup fled from a police officer at a high rate of speed when the officer tried to conduct a traffic stop on the Chevrolet pickup at the intersection of North Pearl Street and Reynolds Avenue just after 11:10 p.m. on May 26. Due to current laws, the officer did not pursue the fleeing vehicles that fled at speeds of approximately 50-60 mph in a residential and business area.

 

Assault 

• A 45-year-old Winlock man was arrested in the 900 block of Harrison Avenue at 4:35 a.m. on May 27 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly spitting on someone. 

 

Animal Assist 

• At approximately 8:50 a.m. on May 27, officers assisted in recovering a dog at the intersection of South Gold and Fair streets that had been on the loose for nearly two weeks. 

 

Keys Locked In Car 

• Just after 12:10 p.m. on May 27, officers assisted in unlocking a vehicle at the intersection of Belmont Avenue and Haviland Street that had the keys locked inside. 

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 163 inmates, including 148 in the general population and 15 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 114 were reported male and 34 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 12 were reported male and three were reported female.
