Sirens: Man exposes himself to motorists; driver knocks down light pole; 'joy-riding" juveniles

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Indecent exposure

• A 46-year-old Winlcok man was arrested and booked into the Chehalis Tribal Jail for indecent exposure after he allegedly exposed himself to passing motorists in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just after 10:45 a.m. on June 21.

 

Vehicle accidents

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Harrison and Belmont avenues just after 12:40 p.m. on June 21.

• A 30-year-old Centralia man was arrested on a felony Department of Corrections warrant after he allegedly caused a two-vehicle accident and knocked over a street light at the intersection of North Tower Avenue and East Second Street at 4:15 p.m. on June 21. Injuries were reported.

 

Malicious mischief

• Intentional damage to a vehicle’s fuel line was reported in the 1500 block of South Gold Street at 12:55 p.m. on June 21. There were no suspects as of Saturday afternoon.

 

Theft

• Approximately $500 in apparel was reported stolen from a retail store in the 100 block of West High Street just after 2:45 p.m. on June 21. The case is under investigation.

• Two rings valued at a combined total of $6,500 were reported stolen from a business in the 300 block of North Tower Avenue just after 3:50 p.m. on June 21. The case is under investigation.

 

Criminal trespass

• A homeless man was trespassed from a shelter in the 700 block of North Tower Avenue just after 11:15 p.m. on June 21 for causing a disturbance and having a smoking device containing suspected meth.

 

Suspicious circumstances

• Five 15-year-olds were contacted by police in the 900 block of West Pear Street just before 3 a.m. on June 22 after they were found “joy-riding” in a vehicle owned by one of the juveniles’ parents. The juveniles were released to their parents. One of the juveniles has been referred to her probation officer for review of possible probation violations.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Suspicious circumstances

• A welfare check was conducted on a suspicious vehicle in the 700 block of Southeast Washington Avenue just before 8 a.m. on June 21. A female passenger in the vehicle passed out, but was breathing. The reporting party requested a check on the vehicle and asked the passenger to be moved along.

• Suspicious circumstances were reported in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue at 1:40 p.m. on June 21. The case is under investigation.

• A man was reportedly throwing stuff over the overpass in the 600 block of Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way just after 6:20 p.m. on June 21.

• A broken window and a broken set of double doors to a building in the 2000 block of Southwest Salsbury Avenue was reported just before 8:10 p.m. on June 23.

 

Vehicle accidents

• A collision with damage was reported at the corner of Northwest Pacific Avenue and Northwest Front Street just before 2 p.m. on June 21. The accident is under further investigation.

 

Hit-and-run

• A hit-and-run collision was reported on the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue just after 3 p.m. on June 21.

• A hit-and-run reported at the intersection of Northwest State Avenue and Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way just before 8:10 p.m. on June 22 is under investigation.

 

Vicious dog

• A report of a vicious dog made in the 1500 block of Southwest Johnson Avenue just before 7:40 p.m. on June 21 is under investigation.

• A report of a vicious dog made in the 700 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue just before 6:45 a.m. on June 23 is under investigation.

 

Assault

• A fourth-degree assault was reported in the 500 block of Southeast Washington Avenue at 11:25 p.m. on June 21.

Criminal trespass

• A disorderly man who was “bouncing on (a) car” and coming in and out of a store in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue was trespassed from the property.

• A subject who was using an exterior outlet on a business in the 100 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 3:35 p.m. on June 21 was moved along.

• A store manager requested a shopper be trespassed from a store in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard just after 4 p.m. on June 21. The shopper had requested a “political subject” who she found “offensive” be removed from the front of the store, though a worker advised her they could not ask them to leave.

• A man sitting on a woman’s porch in the 600 block of Northwest Center Street just before 8:25 p.m. on June 22 was trespassed from the property.

• A subject who was lighting off fireworks in a parking lot in the 2100 block of North National Avenue at 3:40 a.m. on June 24 was trespassed from the property.

 

Theft

• Two subjects shoplifted alcohol from the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 3:20 p.m. on June 21.

• A subject with a blue Mazda SUV stole items from a store in the 1030 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 3:25 p.m. on June 21.

• A burglary to a shed in the 100 block of Southwest Third Street was reported just after 8:30 a.m. on June 22.

• At 8:45 a.m. on June 22, a laptop and shoes were reported stolen out of a car in the 100 block of Southeast Washington Avenue sometime overnight.

 

Dispute

• A verbal dispute was reported in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard just before 6:40 p.m. on June 22.

 

DUI

• A possible DUI involving an erratic vehicle was reported in the 1300 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 5:50 p.m. on June 21.

• A possible DUI reported in the 600 block of Northwest Prindle Street at approximately 9:30 p.m. on June 22 is under investigation.

 

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 114 inmates, including 79 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 79 were reported male and 22 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.

• As of Monday morning, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total system population of 21 inmates, including 14 booked by the Centralia Police Department, six booked by the state Department of Corrections and one booked by the Lummi Nation.
