Sirens: Robbery arrest; Angry grandson throws bowl of cereal; Citizens take dog from owner, allege mistreatment

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Disputes 

• Officers responded to a dispute in the middle of the roadway in the 800 block of West Main Street just before 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 20. A couple citizens were reportedly concerned about the possible mistreatment of a dog and had taken the dog from its owner while waiting for police to arrive. No criminal charges were filed and “all parties were warned about taking the matters into their own hands” and advised “they should call police in the future when they are concerned.” 

• A domestic dispute between a male and a female was reported in the 600 block of South Gold Street just before 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 21. The male left the scene before police arrived. No injuries were reported and officers could not establish probable cause for a crime. 

 

Vicious dogs 

• A group of dogs reportedly tried to attack a cat in the 700 block of Euclid Way just after 10:25 a.m. on Oct. 20. The case is under investigation. 

 

Found dog 

• An abandoned chocolate lab-type dog was found in a fenced area at a dog park in the 900 block of South Gold Street at 1:05 p.m. on Oct. 21. The dog was wearing a dog harness when found, but the harness didn’t have any identifying tags on it. The dog’s owner can contact the Centralia Police Department to have the dog returned to them. 

 

Criminal trespass 

• Three homeless men were trespassed from private property in the 100 block of West Main Street at noon on Oct. 20. 

• A homeless man was trespassed from private property in the 600 block of South Tower Avenue just before 7:40 p.m. on Oct. 20. 

• A 58-year-old Rochester man was cited for second-degree trespassing and domestic violence in the 2000 block of Ahlers Avenue just before 8 a.m. on Oct. 21. Officers mailed the man the citation because they were not able to locate him at the scene. 

• A homeless man from Toledo was trespassed from private property in the 1200 block of Lum Road at approximately 11:05 a.m. on Oct. 21 after officers responded to a report of a subject camping there. 

 

Camping 

• Officers responded to a report that a male was camping on the sidewalk in the 200 block of North Railroad Avenue at 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 21. An officer contacted the male, advised him of the municipal code restricting camping, and gave him information on local resources. 

 

Assault 

• A fourth degree assault and a court order violation involving four juveniles between the ages of 13 and 15 was reported in the 900 block of Johnson Road at approximately 4:10 p.m. on Oct. 20. The case is under investigation. 

 

Sexual misconduct 

• A 24-year-old Winlock man was cited for disclosing intimate images in the 100 block of Virgina Drive at approximately 12:15 p.m. on Oct. 21 after he allegedly posted explicit photos of another person without their permission. 

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Sexual misconduct 

• At 7:35 a.m. on Oct. 20, a business in the 500 block of Southeast Washington Avenue reported a client sexually harassed an employee the day prior. 

• At 3:15 p.m. on Oct. 20, a caller in the 300 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue reported an unidentified suspect sexually assaulted his 16-year-old son on the school bus earlier that afternoon. 

 

Assault 

• A custodial assault that occurred at Green Hill School in the 300 block of Southwest 11th Street in September was reported just before 9:05 a.m. on Oct. 20. Charges were referred to the Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office. 

• An 18-year-old male was arrested in the 600 block of Southwest William Avenue just before 3:20 p.m. on Oct. 21 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence. 

• Just after 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 21, a caller at the intersection of West Main Street and Northwest State Avenue reported “he was attacked” by an unidentified subject with “a pipe and (a) bag full of guns.” The caller advised he was “bleeding from his face and hands” and stated “the suspect was trying to kill him.” 

• A third-degree assault reported in the 1200 block of Southwest Pacific Avenue just after 11:25 p.m. on Oct. 21 is under investigation. 

 

Theft 

• A subject was cited for shoplifting from a business in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 9:40 a.m. on Oct. 20. 

• Possible credit card fraud was reported in the 300 block of North Market Boulevard just after 11:40 a.m. on Oct. 20. 

• A subject was cited for third-degree theft in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 12:20 p.m. on Oct. 20. 

• A subject was cited for third-degree theft in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 2 p.m. on Oct. 20. 



• A subject was cited for third-degree theft in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 2:25 p.m. on Oct. 20. 

• A subject was cited for third-degree theft in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 9 p.m. on Oct. 22. 

Suspicious circumstances 

• Just after 2:40 p.m. on Oct. 20, a caller reported someone put a camping stake under the tire of her vehicle in the 1300 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue while she was at work. 

• A woman was reportedly taking pictures of children at a school in the 1000 block of Southwest 20th Street at 6:10 p.m. on Oct. 20. 

• Just after 10:45 a.m. on Oct. 21, a caller reported a suspicious truck with a trailer was parked in the front yard of the caller’s property in the 500 block of Southwest Pacific Avenue. The caller was concerned the vehicle’s occupants were planning to steal items from the caller’s front porch. 

• A suspicious backpack was abandoned at a business in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 12:55 p.m. on Oct. 21. The items were inspected and nothing hazardous was located. 

• A male subject was reportedly “trying to sell jewelry and Airpods” in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 2:55 p.m. on Oct. 21. 

• A yellow Ford Mustang was reportedly driving recklessly, weaving “in and out of both lanes and hitting the curb,” in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard at 10 p.m. on Oct. 21. 

• A male subject reportedly went inside a business in the 200 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue, “made a statement that he was threatened at gunpoint” and said he ‘wanted to go through the lost and found.” The subject left the property when asked to do so. 

• A disorderly subject was reportedly “waving a stick” and “going into people’s backyards” at the intersection of Southwest Sixth Street and Southwest McFadden Avenue at approximately 3:55 p.m. on Oct. 22. 

• Just after 4:50 p.m. on Oct. 22, a caller who lives in her car reported she was parked near the 500 block of North Market Boulevard when a male subject looked into her vehicle, yelled “a bunch of religious things at her then walked away.” 

 

Juvenile problems 

• A “juvenile problem” reported in the 1200 block of Bishop Road just before 4:45 p.m. on Oct. 20 is under investigation. 

• At approximately 3:05 p.m. on Oct. 22, a caller in the 400 block of Northeast Washington Avenue reported her 13-year-old grandson was “upset he had to do chores” and “threw his bowl of cereal all over” then left the house on foot. 

 

Criminal trespass 

• A case of trespassing was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 5:45 p.m. on Oct. 20. 

• A subject was trespassed from property in the 1300 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 6:35 p.m. on Oct. 20. 

• Just before 11:15 a.m. on Oct. 21, a caller reported the door to a vacant residence in the 600 block of Southwest McFadden Avenue had been kicked in sometime overnight. 

• A woman was trespassed from a business in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue at 11:45 a.m. on Oct. 21. 

• A disorderly subject who was reportedly “yelling at no one” was trespassed from a business in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 3:20 p.m. on Oct. 21. 

• A male subject who was “bothering everyone” was trespassed from a business in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 5:35 p.m. on Oct. 21. 

• A male subject was cited for trespassing at a business in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 8:05 p.m. on Oct. 21. 

• A male subject who was “in the store eating (but) doesn’t have any money” and was “asking for cigarettes” was arrested in the 600 block of West Main Street at approximately 11:15 p.m. on Oct. 21 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail. 

• A case of trespassing was reported in the 1300 block of northwest Louisiana Avenue at 5 a.m. on Oct. 22. 

• A male subject was reportedly trespassing at a vacant house in the 10 block of Southwest Sixth Street at approximately 1:20 p.m. on Oct. 22. 

• The occupants of a white Honda were moved along from the 1500 block of South Market Boulevard just after 7:50 p.m. on Oct. 22. 

 

Robbery 

• A male subject was arrested in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 8:25 p.m. on Oct. 20 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for second-degree robbery. 

 

Disputes 

• A verbal dispute was reported in the 10 block of Northeast Median Street at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 21. 

• A verbal dispute was reported in the 400 block of Northwest Division Street just before 10:55 a.m. on Oct. 22. 

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 139 inmates, including 127 in the general population and 12 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 96 were reported male and 31 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and one was reported female.
