Sirens: Sexual misconduct reported; Man pulls down pants, refuses to leave; Suspect booked for criminal impersonation; Woman challenges people to fight

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Theft 

• A 54-year-old Alaska man was cited for third-degree theft after he allegedly shoplifted a bottle of whiskey from a grocery store in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue at 8:15 a.m. on Oct. 22. The man was also issued a court summons for an outstanding Centralia Municipal Court warrant and was trespassed from the grocery store at the business’s request. He was not booked into the jail due to Lewis County Jail booking restrictions. 

• Just after 11:05 a.m. on Oct. 22, a red 2011 Toyota Scion was reported stolen from the 1700 block of Cooks Hill Road sometime overnight. 

• A 26-year-old Centralia woman was cited for third-degree theft after she allegedly shoplifted alcoholic beverages from a store in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue and fled the scene. She was trespassed from the store at the business’s request. 

• Just before 3:55 p.m. on Oct. 22, a caller reported their green 2003 Porsche 911 was stolen from their enclosed garage in the 800 block of J Street sometime within the last two days. 

• Two packages with an approximate total value of $30 were reported stolen from the 100 block of North King Street at 9:25 a.m. on Oct. 24. 

• Three packages were reported stolen off of a residential front porch in the 1000 block of E Street just after 3:35 p.m. on Oct. 24. 

 

Forgery 

• Just after noon on Oct. 24, officers responded to a report of a person trying to cash a check on someone else’s closed account in the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue. The suspect reportedly left his identification behind when he left the business. 

 

Found property 

• At approximately 9:15 a.m. on Oct. 22, officers filed a report stating an unidentified subject left a guitar pedal board case containing guitar pedals at the Centralia Police Department in the 100 block of West Maple Street sometime overnight. The items have been placed into evidence as found property. “If these items belong to you, please contact the Centralia Police Department and provide a detailed description of the items to claim them,” Centralia police stated in a news release. 

 

Possession of a stolen vehicle 

• Officers recovered a stolen vehicle in a parking lot in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue at approximately 9:15 a.m. on Oct. 24 after they responded to a report of a woman slumped over the steering wheel. 

 

Hit-and-run 

• Just after 10:20 a.m. on Oct. 22, a hit-and-run that occurred at the intersection of East Main and North Gold streets about 30 minutes prior was reported. 

• A hit-and-run was reported in the 3300 block of Galvin Road just before 1:50 p.m. on Oct. 24. 

 

Vehicle accident 

• A minor, non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 600 block of West Main Street just after 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 24. 

 

Assault 

• A 31-year-old Centralia woman was arrested in the 700 block of North Pearl Street just after 9:20 p.m. on Oct. 22 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence. 

 

Disorderly conduct 

• A disorderly male subject was reportedly “punching people’s vehicles” at a gas station in the 1000 block of Belmont Avenue at approximately 2:55 p.m. on Oct. 24. 

 

Criminal trespass 

• A disorderly female subject who was reportedly “challenging people to fight” in the 1000 block of North Tower Avenue was trespassed from a private residence at 5:05 p.m. on Oct. 24. She was later taken to the hospital after she ran into traffic. 

 

Malicious mischief 

• At approximately 7:35 p.m. on Oct. 24, a caller reported their vehicle’s tire was slashed in the 100 block of East Alaska Way earlier that day. 

• At 7:50 a.m. on Oct. 25, medical staff at a facility in the 900 block of South Scheuber Road reported a male subject was “damaging property and making threats with a sharp object.” The case is under investigation. 

 

Criminal impersonation 

• A 37-year-old Centralia man was referred on criminal impersonation and escape from community custody charges at 5:15 a.m. on Oct. 25 after officers responded to a report of a “suspicious person sneaking around in the backyard of a residence” in the 200 block of M Street. He allegedly gave officers a false name to avoid arrest on an outstanding felony warrant. He was not booked into the Lewis County Jail due to jail booking restrictions, according to the Centralia Police Department. 

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT 



Theft 

• Just before 8:25 a.m. on Oct. 23, a red 1993 Nissan NX was reported stolen from the 200 block of Southwest 16th Street sometime overnight. 

• Two to three bottles of alcohol were reported stolen from a business in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard at approximately 5:35 p.m. on Oct. 23. The suspects were trespassed from the business. 

 

Criminal trespass 

• A subject was reportedly trespassing in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue just before 9:50 a.m. on Oct. 23. 

• Homeless people were reportedly camping under a bridge in the 800 block of state Route 6 at 2:45 p.m. on Oct. 23. 

• A “mentally unstable male” who was refusing to leave the parking lot of a business in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue was trespassed from the property just after 8:35 p.m. on Oct. 23. 

• A male subject who was reportedly “sexually harassing females in the parking lot” of a business in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 11:25 p.m. on Oct. 23 was trespassed from the business. 

• A homeless man was trespassed from a property in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 3:25 a.m. on Oct. 24. 

• A male subject was reportedly trespassing in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 7:10 a.m. on Oct. 24. 

• A case of trespassing was reported in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard just before 9:15 a.m. on Oct. 24. 

• A disorderly male who was reportedly “pulling (his) pants down (and) refusing to leave” property in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 12:35 p.m. on Oct. 24 was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail for trespassing. 

• A male subject accused of stealing paint from a business in the 200 block of Southwest Second Street just before 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 24 was trespassed from the business. 

 

Disorderly conduct 

• A disorderly male subject was reportedly “throwing a bicycle” in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue at approximately 3:25 p.m. on Oct. 23. 

• A disorderly male subject reportedly threatened employees at a business in the 600 block of Northwest State Avenue just before 10:45 a.m. on Oc.t. 24. The male reportedly got upset when employees “told him to stop digging through their trash.” 

 

Vehicle accident 

• A non-injury, non-blocking, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Northwest State Avenue and Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way just after 4:35 p.m. on Oct. 23. 

 

Hit-and-run 

• Just before 5 a.m. on Oct. 25, a hit-and-run that occurred in the 1000 block of Southeast Adams Avenue sometime overnight was reported. 

 

Malicious mischief 

• Just after 7 a.m. on Oct. 24, malicious mischief to a vehicle that occurred in the 1000 block of Southwest 20th Street sometime overnight was reported. 

 

Harassment 

• A subject in the 1500 block of North National Avenue reported she was being harassed by a neighbor just before 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 24. 

 

Sexual misconduct 

• At approximately 5:10 p.m. on Oct. 24, a juvenile reported “a sexual relationship between a 15-year-old and a 23-year-old” in the 300 block of North Market Boulevard. 

 

Runaway 

• Officers assisted the state Department of Children, Youth and Families with locating a runaway juvenile in the 100 block of Southwest William Avenue just before 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 24. 

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 137 inmates, including 124 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 97 were reported male and 27 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.
