CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Trespassing 

• A Centralia man was cited for trespassing in the 1000 block of Eckerson Road just before 10:45 a.m. on Dec. 16. 

 

Malicious Mischief 

• Damage to a windshield caused by a BB was reported in the 1500 block of Windsor Avenue at approximately 12:40 p.m. on Dec. 16. 

 

Vehicle Accidents 

• Injuries were reported following a two-vehicle rear-end collision at the intersection of West Cherry and South Pearl streets at 5:35 p.m. on Dec. 16. 

 

Theft 

• Shoes were reported stolen from the 1300 block of Lum Road just after 6:05 p.m. on Dec. 16. 

• A Centralia woman was arrested in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just after 6:45 p.m. on Dec. 16 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for second-degree burglary after she allegedly shoplifted from a store she was trespassed from. 

• An unidentified male reportedly stole from multiple outlets in the 1400 block of Lum Road just after 12:40 p.m. on Dec. 18 and fled before officers arrived. The case is under investigation. 

• A Centralia man was cited for third-degree theft in the 1000 block of Belmont Avenue just before 3:35 p.m. on Dec. 18. 

• A wallet containing credit cards was reported stolen from the 1300 block of Lum Road just after 3:50 p.m. on Dec. 18. 

 

DUI 

• Zachary E. Torres, 33, of Rochester, was arrested in the 1700 block of Harrison Avenue at 12:35 a.m. on Dec. 17 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly driving under the influence. 

• Jose C. Hernandez, 44, of Centralia, was arrested at the intersection of North Washington Avenue and West Center Street at 12:35 a.m. on Dec. 18 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly driving under the influence. 

• Curtis B. Lenz, 23, of Chehalis, was arrested at the intersection of South Pearl and West Chestnut streets at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Dec. 18 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for allegedly driving under the influence after officers were called to the scene of a vehicle accident. No injuries were reported. 

 

Snowy Squabble 

• A dispute in which one person was sprayed in the face with holiday spray snow and another person smashed out a sliding glass door was reported in the 1600 block of Military Road at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 17. No arrests were made and the case is under investigation. 

 

Criminal Impersonation 

• A Centralia woman was arrested in the 1000 block of Ellsbury Street just after 9:35 p.m. on Dec. 17 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail on outstanding warrants and for criminal impersonation after she allegedly gave a fictitious name to evade arrest. A second Centralia woman was arrested and booked on an outstanding warrant during the same incident. 

 

Unlawful Possession 

• Possession of a stolen vehicle and unlawful possession of a firearm charges against a Chehalis man were referred to the Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office after officers responded to the intersection of Noble Lane and Borthwick Street at approximately 9:55 a.m. on Dec. 18. 

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT 

Trespassed From Property 

• A subject was trespassed from a vacant lot in the 600 block of North National Avenue just after 9:40 a.m. on Dec. 16. 

• A disorderly male was trespassed from a business in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue at approximately 12:50 p.m. on Dec. 16 after allegedly yelling at customers. 



• A “drunk customer” was trespassed from a business in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 16. 

• Two males who reportedly attempted to shoplift from a business in the 1700 block of North National Avenue just after 3:35 p.m. on Dec. 18 were trespassed from the business. 

 

Assault

• A subject was arrested in the 200 block of Southwest 13th Street just after 12:05 p.m. on Dec. 16 and was booked into the Lewis County Jail for alleged third-degree assault after someone reported they were shot with a pellet gun. 

 

Disputes 

• A verbal dispute was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at 12:25 p.m. on Dec. 16. 

• A verbal dispute was reported in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue at approximately 2:10 p.m. on Dec. 16. 

• A verbal dispute was reported in the 600 block of South Market Boulevard at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 16. 

• Just before 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 16, a caller in the 400 block of Northwest Newaukum Avenue reported a subject was “holding a knife” to another person. No arrests were made. 

• A male reportedly pushed a female in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 3:25 p.m. on Dec. 17. No arrests were made. 

 

Hit-and-Run 

• A hit-and-run was reported in the 1100 block of South Market Boulevard at 1:10 p.m. on Dec. 16. 

• Just before 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 17, a hit-and-run that occurred in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue the day prior was reported. 

 

Vehicle Accident 

• A non-injury, two-vehicle accident was reported at the intersection of Northwest Prindle Street and Northwest Chehalis Avenue at approximately 9 p.m. on Dec. 16. 

Theft 

• A chainsaw and a portable stereo were reported stolen from the 500 block of Southwest William Avenue just before 2:15 p.m. on Dec. 17. 

 

Welfare Check 

• A caller requested a welfare check on a “male slumped over the wheel” in a vehicle at the intersection of Noble Lane and Borthwick Street at approximately 9:55 a.m. on Dec. 18. The vehicle was towed and Adult Protective Services aided the male. 

 

Overdose 

• A possible overdose was reported in the 500 block of South Market Boulevard just after 10:50 p.m. on Dec. 18. 

 

Possible Animal Abuse 

• At approximately 2:40 p.m. on Dec. 18, a caller in the 600 block of Chamber of Commerce Way reported a male “kicked a dog and slammed it against the bridge.” Officers later confirmed with the subject that the subject was trying to skateboard while walking his dog, and the subject pushed the dog with his leg to avoid an oncoming vehicle when the dog went into the roadway. 

 

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Monday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 144 inmates, including 130 in the general population and 14 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 106 were reported male and 24 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 12 were reported male and two were reported female.
