Sirens: Stolen bike returned after officer sees homeless man on it; driver arrested after fleeing crash; indecent exposure reported

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Theft

• A 26-year-old Chehalis resident was cited for shoplifting from a grocery store in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just before 10:35 a.m. on Sept. 25.

• A male suspect reportedly stole a blue mountain bike from a residence in the 1200 block of Alexander Street just before 10:40 a.m. on Sept. 25.

• Tools were reported stolen from an auto parts store in the 500 block of West Main Street just after 2:40 p.m. on Sept. 26. The case is under investigation.

• A bike was reported stolen from the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just after 5:40 p.m. on Sept. 26. The bike had been locked in front of a grocery store. An officer later saw a homeless man riding the bike, which the man said he borrowed from a friend. The bike was returned to its owner.

 

Burglary

• At 10:05 a.m. on Sept. 26, a safe was reported stolen from a business in the 700 block of North Tower Avenue during a burglary that occurred sometime overnight.

• A burglary of a garage in the 600 block of Field Avenue reported at approximately 1:05 p.m. on Sept. 26 is under investigation.

 

Drug violation

• A 32-year-old Olympia man was cited for possession of meth and an outstanding Olympia Municipal Court warrant in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just before 1:05 p.m. on Sept. 25.

 

DUI

• A 39-year-old Centralia woman was arrested for DUI, hit-and-run and reckless endangerment after she allegedly fled the scene of a vehicle accident at the intersection of West High Street and Harrison Avenue at approximately 3:15 p.m. on Sept. 25. Officers used the Flock Safety camera system to locate her vehicle.

 

CHEHALIS POLICE DEPARTMENT

Vehicle prowl

• A man was reportedly looking into vehicles and pulling on vehicle door handles in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street at approximately 10:05 a.m. on Sept. 25.

• A man was reportedly looking into a vehicle in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 6:50 a.m. on Sept. 26.

 

Harassment

• A report of harassment made in the 2600 block of Northeast Kresky Avenue at 1:25 p.m. on Sept. 25 is under investigation.

• A male client was reportedly harassing staff at a facility in the 400 block of North Market Boulevard just before 1:50 p.m. on Sept. 26.

 

Suspicious circumstances

• A woman was reportedly screaming at the intersection of Southwest William Avenue and Southwest Second Street just after 1:35 p.m. on Sept. 25.

 

Criminal trespass



• A woman was reportedly screaming and banging on the windows of a business she was trespassed from in the 10 block of Northwest Boistfort Street at approximately 3:35 p.m. on Sept. 25.

• A man was trespassed from a business in the 400 block of North Market Boulevard at 5 p.m. on Sept. 25.

• A subject was trespassed from a property in the 500 block of North Market Boulevard at 1:25 a.m. on Sept. 27.

 

Vehicle accidents

• A vehicle accident with reported injuries that occurred at the intersection of Southwest 13th Street and Southwest Circle Place at approximately 1:15 p.m. on Sept. 25 is under investigation.

• A non-injury, single-vehicle collision was reported in the 300 block of Southwest 11th Street just after 2:15 p.m. on Sept. 25.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 1400 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 25.

• Head, neck and shoulder injuries were reported following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Northwest Louisiana Avenue and Airport Road just after 2:50 p.m. on Sept. 26. A 14-year-old passenger was uninjured.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Northwest Chamber of Commerce Way and Northwest State Avenue at approximately 3:20 p.m. on Sept. 26.

 

Rape

• A rape reported in the 2000 block of Jackson Highway just after 6 p.m. on Sept. 25 is under investigation.

 

Indecent exposure

• A homeless man reportedly urinated on the side of a business in the 400 block of North Market Boulevard at approximately 8:20 p.m. on Sept. 25.

 

Death

• A death reported in the 700 block of Southwest 19th Street just before 6:15 a.m. on Sept. 26 is under investigation.

Theft

• Just after 11:25 a.m. on Sept. 26, a medication theft that occurred at a business in the 1700 block of Northeast Kresky Avenue on Sept. 24 was reported.

 

FIRE AND EMS CALLS

• Between Wednesday morning and Friday morning, Lewis County 911 Communications logged approximately 52 illness-related calls, 14 injury-related calls, 11 fire-related calls, six non-emergency service calls, three vehicle accidents, three Lifeline medical alerts,one pregnancy-related call, one hazardous conditions report and four other calls.

 

JAIL STATISTICS

• As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 156 inmates, including 143 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 111 were reported male and 32 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.

• As of Friday morning, the Chehalis Tribal Jail had a total system population of 14 inmates, including four booked by the Centralia Police Department, seven booked by the state Department of Corrections and three booked by the Lummi Nation.
