Sirens: Stolen Mail, Packages Left Behind After Car Prowl; Car Stolen While Warming Up; Interrupted Vehicle Prowl

Christmas Burglary

• Two people wearing motorcycle helmets and backpacks broke into a residence in the 1500 block of Lum Road and stole items. The burglary was reported at 7:57 a.m. Sunday. The case is under investigation. 

 

Theft

• A victim reported the theft of a backup camera from their vehicle in the 100 block of Jalyn Street at about 12:02 a.m. Sunday.

• An unknown male stole a torch kit from a hardware store in the 1600 block of Harrison Avenue, according to a report at about 10:50 a.m. Saturday.

• A known female suspect was caught shoplifting at a grocery store in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue, according to a report at about 3:30 p.m. Saturday. The case is still under investigation. 

 

Burglary Arrest

• Jaimie A. Hammill, 34, of Chehalis, was booked into the Lewis County Jail for second-degree after an investigation just after midnight Monday revealed she allegedly committed a crime within a business in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue she was previously trespassed from.

 

Stolen Mail, Packages Left Behind After Car Prowl

• A vehicle prowl occurred in the 1000 block of North Scheuber Road resulting in a theft of $10 in change, according to a report at about 9:45 p.m. Saturday. During the investigation, various articles of mail and packages were located in the victim’s vehicle. They are believed to be from additional victims. Attempts are being made to locate the owners of the recovered mail and packages.

 

Crashes

• A two-vehicle, non-injury, partially blocking collision occurred in the 600 block of Harrison Avenue at about 5:45 p.m. Saturday.

• A box truck slid into a parked car and caused minor damage in the 700 block of North Tower Avenue at about 10:45 a.m. Friday.   

• An unknown vehicle left the roadway and knocked over two street signs in the 1300 block of Mellen Street at about 11:40 a.m. Friday. 

• A vehicle slid off the roadway and into the ditch in the 1400 block of Maple Valley Drive, according to a report at about 12:50 a.m. Friday.



• A two-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of West First Street and Harrison Avenue at about 1:30 p.m. Friday.

 

Graffiti

• Gang-style graffiti was sprayed on a garage door in the 900 block of F Street, according to a report at 12:41 a.m. Friday. 

 

Car Stolen While Warming Up 

• A dark gray Volkswagen Tiguan was stolen from the 1200 block of Johnson Road while the owner was letting it warm up, according to a report at 7 a.m. Saturday. It has tinted windows and a Louis Vuitton sticker on the back window, according to police.    

 

Interrupted Vehicle Prowl 

• An interrupted vehicle prowl was reported in the 700 block of F Street at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday. A male suspect entered three unlocked vehicles and fled the area on foot with a diaper bag and tool bag.

 

DUI Arrest After Crash

• Angel Garcia Venegas, 20, of Chehalis, was booked into the Lewis County Jail for driving under the influence after being contacted during a collision investigation, which involved multiple parked vehicles. The crash was reported in the 800 block of K Street at about 1:46 a.m. Sunday. 

 

 No-Contact Order Violation

• Kyle D. Scott, 42, of Napavine, was arrested in the 1000 block of Harrison Avenue at about 1:50 a.m. Thursdayand booked into the Lewis County Jail for felony violation of a domestic-violence no contact order.
