South Puget Sound community college was recognized as the "Best Community College" in ShowCase Magazine's Best of 2024.

According to a news release, this award reflects the college's commitment to excellence in education, student success and community engagement.

“We are incredibly honored to be named the Best Community College by ShowCase Magazine,” said Dr. Timothy Stokes, president of SPSCC. “This recognition is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our faculty, staff, and students. It reinforces our commitment to providing high-quality education and a supportive, inclusive community.”

SPSCC is dedicated to fostering student success by offering small class sizes, exceptional faculty and staff and state-of-the-art facilities. According to a news release, every year, over 5,000 students pursue a wide range of goals through SPSCC’s ‘Pathways’, including degree programs, high school education, workforce development and more.

Each year, students gain new skills, secure jobs, earn degrees and explore exciting opportunities at SPSCC’s Olympia and Lacey campuses, as well as through the college’s classes in Yelm and online.

SPSCC’s core themes — student achievement, equity, and learning and engagement — are central to the work of its departments and faculty.

“For more than sixty years, SPSCC has been a vital part of Olympia and its neighboring communities,” SPCC said in a news release.
