Law enforcement and fire crews worked to recover a submerged vehicle from the river near Oakville on Wednesday.

Personnel responded to the Black River boat launch, just south of Oakville, at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 22 for a “report of a single vehicle off the roadway into the river,” according to dispatch information released via the Grays Harbor Scanner Facebook page. At the time of the dispatch, responders stated they did not know whether it was an injury collision.

“Apparently, the vehicle sounds like it’s unoccupied and that a fleeing vehicle possibly involved fled on Cemetery Road,” a Grays Harbor Scanner moderator posted to the Facebook page shortly before noon on Wednesday.

The Chronicle was unable to reach the Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office for more information on Friday.
