A suspect is in custody after law enforcement responded to a robbery in Chehalis early Wednesday morning.

The robbery was reported at a business in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue at approximately 3:29 a.m. on July 26, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

The victim, a 44-year-old woman, reported a male entered the business, demanded money and then fled with an “undisclosed amount of cash,” according to the Chehalis Police Department. The suspect “implied he had a weapon but did not display it” during the incident, according to law enforcement. No injuries were reported.

The suspect fled the scene before Chehalis officers arrived, but officers located him at a nearby hotel during the investigation, according to the Chehalis Police Department. Officers subsequently obtained and executed a search warrant, recovering the stolen cash.

“We would like to thank our neighboring agencies for their assistance: Centralia Police Department, Washington State Patrol and the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office,” the Chehalis Police Department stated in a news release.

The suspect, identified as Omarion Moore, has been booked into the Lewis County Jail for first-degree robbery, according to the Chehalis Police Department.

Moore was not facing charges related to the incident in Lewis County Superior Court as of Wednesday afternoon.

“The incident is still under investigation. No further information is being released at this time,” the Chehalis Police Department stated in a news release.
