Tenino pulls away to top Elma in four

The Tenino volleyball team seemingly got better as the game went along on Tuesday, as the Beavers took the final two sets in a 25-16, 20-25, 25-20, 25-10 win in Elma.

Macy Griffis went 20 for 20 serving with an ace while also adding 14 assists and three digs, while Katen Burkhardt added eight assists, five aces, five kills, three digs, and a block.

Presley Vanchieri totaled four blocks and a kill, while Kylee Petrich logged seven kills, seven digs, six blocks, and an ace. Briana Asay scored on seven tips at the net while also adding seven digs, two kills, and an ace.

Tenino coach Shauna Carpenter was especially pleased with the Griffis and Burkhardt moved the ball around, and she also commended Petrich and Vanchieri for their play at the net.

The Beavers (3-4, 1-1 1A Evergreen) will head to Hoquiam on Thursday for another league match.
