‘That’s How You Play the Game’: Centralia Family Wins $20K on Family Feud

The Kline family, from Centralia, appeared on the nationally televised game show “Family Feud” Friday morning and won $20,000.

The Klines beat the Darden family from Louisville, Ky., outsmarting them on such categories as “Where would you not like to find fingernail clippings?” and “If they made a Judge Judy doll, what would it come with?”

The Kline Family –– which includes Connie, a nurse; her daughter Jessica, a third-grade teacher; nephew Ryan, a consultant; daughter Jody, a pediatric dietitian; and son Noah, an aspiring medical student working as a barista –– earned their way into the Fast Money round at a chance for the $20,000 grand prize.

With 20 seconds to answer five questions, Ryan answered well enough to give the Klines more than 200 points and the $20,000 prize.

“I like the way you play, Ryan,” host and comedian Steve Harvey said. “You didn’t panic. I like the way you play.”

Along with the winnings, the Kline family will appear again on CW 11 at 9 a.m. Monday as the defending champions to compete for more prize money and a brand new car.

Both episodes were filmed in Atlanta last summer. The family first auditioned in Puyallup 14 months ago.

Megan Barker, the spokesperson for “Family Feud,” said the Kline family cannot reveal the outcome of the shows until after they air.

Connie said friends have asked her if she won a brand new car in the second appearance.

“I’m still driving my Toyota,” Connie said. “You will just have to keep watching.”

After Friday morning’s program aired, Connie did say the family decided to split the $20,000 prize money five ways.

Ryan, Jessica and Noah met in Seattle, where they all live now, on Friday morning to watch the national television appearance, while Connie and Jody watched together in Centralia.

Connie said she and Jody are planning to meet the others in Seattle on Monday for a viewing party of their second appearance on “Family Feud.”
